Default Excavation

Any suggestions for an excavation type person (I think) to address a yard water problem (pooling.) I've tried some things myself unsuccessfully I believe the area of concern needs re-grading and possibly some drainage. No clue who even does this. Thanks...

Any landscaping company with “hardscaping” as a service can deal with drainage problems. They will usually have small equipment suitable for traversing lawns or sensitive areas to minimize damage to the surroundings.
Usually drainage problems like your “pooling” issue can be dealt with very easily as all it really requires is a French drain (or similar) to move water away from the affected area. Some finish grading and whatever you need (lawn, gravel, mulch, etc)
YouTube has hundreds of videos of people dealing with water issues. Maybe you have already seen some as you say you were unsuccessful?
Anyway, start with some landscapers in your area.

Thanks however it's coming down a pretty steep slope behind the yard there's some constant flowing even a very little creek (barely) running beside the yard. Difficult to explain but I think it's beyond a French drain. I'll see perhaps someone has some experience with this or knows of a lead.

I've reached out to one person waiting for a response but if anybody knows of anyone else with this expertise it would be appreciated.

Padula Excavation just completed a job for me. He tore down a building and installed water and sewer lines for a campground.

When the excavation was complete he graded the property to prepare it for paving. The work was good and the price was fair. He has several excavators and dump trucks.

He is out of Belmont. 603-528-0414

How big is the area in question ? How big is the entire parcel? Without detail, I can see a bunch of potential regulatory issues with re-directing natural water flow. Everything from wetlands issues to dumping the water onto abutting properties. Maybe a detention pond or water garden would work? Sounds like some expertise (engineer?) may be in order before you just hire a guy who is "real good with a backhoe", especially if your home remedies have been unsuccessful. Be interested to hear what you do.

Yes, I was thinking about that as well when he said “constant flow” may well be a brook/stream/wetlands issue. I like the idea of a koi pond...but that’s another thing entirely!
(And most likely very expensive)
