Thinking of buying condo--help please!
Does anyone know of a list of condominium associations in the area? Be even better if there was one with a list of amenities! Looking for a condo within twenty minutes of Moultonborough Neck Road with a garage, indoor pool, and, if possible, water access/frontage. The real estate listings don't always have them checked off.
Thanks! |

Call a pro for help , Remax , Roche Realty , both have great people that can walk you thru the issues with condos and have sold in most of the complexes. There is no reason to go it alone or get all your advice from a forum

Billy Bob makes an excellent point. A local real estate agent would not only be able to identify associations with the amenities you want, they can also let you know which associations are financially stable, which are facing special assessments and those that have a history of numerous assessments.
Most agencies have copies of all local association bylaws and they can make your search a lot easier! Billy Bob made some good recommendations of reputable real estate agencies. Good luck in your search! |

Thanks Karen and Billy Bob--we've got a seasonal camp on moultonborough neck but the wife's parents are thinking of selling their home and splitting time between NH and Florida, which means we'd be able to use whatever they buy in winter. For this reason, we're thinking condo would be easiest to maintain and are just starting our search. We thought if someone had a list we could start crossing off places that don't meet the minimum requirements and start to get a sense of where we might focus.

Samoset on Lake Shore Rd. in Gilford
An indoor pool in a Lakes Region condo is a rarity, most likely found in big, expensive associations or motel-type resorts that have been converted or partially converted to condos.
Samoset is an exception, but more like 40 than 20 minutes from Moultonborough Neck Road. The Grouse Point Association in Meredith also has an indoor pool, but possibly too expensive. Misty Harbor in Gilford is the cheapest but has lots of transients and may not be in great shape andor very well run (according to reviews) -- might be an okay place for you to hang your hat in the winter but I doubt the kind of haven where your in-laws would like to spend their summers. |
