Default Software question

Hi All,
I have numerous photos taken with my digital camera of neat artifacts and pieces of Winni history I have brought up from the depths of while diving. I'd like to post them on the Forum but they range in size from perhaps 300kb to about 1MB. I have tried witout success to mess with them in MS-Paint to reduce the file size to pass muster with the posting rules, but it just isn't working.

Any suggestions as to software I could buy (or Freeware?)
that doesn't cost an arm and a leg to simply get these things into a smaller file size? (as if I need more software).

Or-could I email them some Forum member who could reduce them, then mail them back to me so I can post them?

Thanks!

Default Shrinking those treasures down to size!

Mee-n-Mac summed it all up nicely with the links and advice contained here.

Good luck, looking forward to your photo gallery,

Default I use this one... it's FREE!

Diver 1111

I've used this software for about six months....

Simple way to resize entire "batches" of pics off my digital camera... and it's free!

Lightbulb Some lists FYI

Although it's a list of viewers, most have some simple (and not so simple) image editting capabilities.

For a list of editors you might want to peruse this just to become even more confused.
