Default What's your number?

I live very far from the lake and only make it there once per year. About this time each year I can see what I am missing through the various webcams and I start to get very anxious about my summer vacation. My husband calls it "the Winni bug".

The bug has HIT and I'm 90 days out...for those in a similar situation, what's your number?

We are sitting in the airport waiting to come home after school vacation week in FL. We are fortunate to live there FT now. Though when my daughter goes off to school in 3 years, I will do a month somewhere warm!

Maybe you will be visiting your daughter in a warm place when she goes to college. Our went to college in Florida and then he never left. I love visiting him in late October and then again in February/ March.

T-3 days and counting till we are on the boat for the first time this year. Going to get her all set, and stay a single night only. But...at least we will consider it being back "home".

Try to get here every free weekend and as many summer days as possible. Sitting on the balcony right now watching a seaplane taxiing from Lago!

We are so happy and thankful to be there almost every weekend year 'round....with longer stays during the summer.

We are visiting our son's family in MD this weekend. I'm looking forward to finally enjoying reading my book on the dock next weekend and perhaps a cocktail watching the sunset.

It's been a lovely, quiet winter, and now we can't wait for the house to be full of family and friends on those warm summer weekends!

Zero... a lifelong dream....

Started coming to the lakes region when I was a newborn. Always dreamed of being here full time. Now I am.

My number is 75. Oh wait, that's my Sleep Number

For 1st boat launch it was about 14 days ago, but we aren't able to stay on the island for about 2 more weeks. Too many weekend commitments.

Went for a ride on the new pontoon yesterday. Got to see Ishoot308 and Hailey the pup at Glendale.

Default 46 Days ...

My wife and I are from central Pennsylvania and a friend of ours turned us on to the Lake 21 years ago. We haven't missed a year yet. The kids are now grown but Beth and I have made it a June tradition to stay at Colonial Pines Resort in Center Harbor. I've been fortunate to travel all over our country and the "lake" is our favorite spot ... hands down.

We are lucky as well, spending most of our free time at the lake. We grew up with just the summer weekends and a week here or there. Most of our time as kids living aboard dads Crusier in Gilford Marina (MVYC now).

Fishing boat was in 4-17 (salmon and lakers have been hitting nicely) Pontoon will be in this weekend.

I have many numbers to think about....

To open the camp well that is -12

Call to the Marina for boat prep was -8

The boat to be waiting for me at the dock is at 3

Me arriving with the boat at the dock and taking a shake down cruise is 3.5

Me spending the day lost on the lake is 4.0.....

Planing a big opening day cruise should the weather be right.... out under the LI bridge, over towards Center Harbor, then down past Shep Browns, snaking over and under the GI bridge, past Welch, over behind sleepers, and around Rattlesnake, heading back through Barbers pole, and heading back up towards Moultonboro bay before heading back down by Pistol etc.....

Anyways enough day dreaming back to work

Arrived this morning and even though the weather will not be the greatest, the smell of the trees, the lake water and the fresh mountain air reminded me why I still year after year can't wait to get here!

Arrived on Thursday to start off the 2013 season. Although it's cold and dreary it's better than being in NJ (which is having this same lousy weather).

Default Frustrating...

Please, will all update their location. When one says "up there from here", readers have no clue. If a writer's primary home is Long Island, NY, please say so. The context of comments is missing with no location.

Thanks!

My number is about 26 months. That's how long I must wait to get my youngest off to college, my CT house sold and move to the area full time. The semi frequent visits I make until then keep me focused.

21 days. My head is full of dreams of Pine Cone pizza, ice cream at Pier 19, and all the trips we will take on the new (to us) boat. I've had my nose in my Bizer chart plotting for the last 2 days.

Do what I do and put an extra Bizer chart next to the most used seat in the house(porcelin). The reading never gets old but I do find myself spending to much time there.

I'm at 43 days...

And I do the same thing with my Bizer chart. We have two the laminated one stays in the boat, and the other at the porcelin seat. I go thru it as it gets close to vacation time to get aquainted with where I'm staying, where I want to go, and just dreaming of the week I get to spend in my favorite place. Especially when we are changing rental locations, like this year.

If megamillions ever comes my way then I'll be a permanent resident, but for now...just a once a year thing.

36 more days until our vacation in Meredith for 14 days. But I am also at the lake most weekends just for one day. Day trips are great but no where as good as as being there all the time.

Default 7 for a day and 18 for a week

Will take the in-laws up for a day out on the lake next week. Keeping the boat at Andrews at Minge Cove this summer. Looks like Monday might be best pick for weather but it's a crazy pattern so who knows? After that it's 18 days til we're up for the week at our little rented cabin on Railroad Ave just over from Sleepers Point. It'll be our 3rd season and really looking forward to it. We're doing a 2nd week over Labor day this year also. Got the old Wellcraft running as well as ever; brand new exhaust manifold conversion kit and new bimini this season. Lets hope we all get through this crazy weather the next few days, up there and down here on the North Shore.

Last week, we enjoyed the company of twenty [20] people and four [4] dogs at our cottage on East Bear Island. These folks are relatives and friends from five states. The cousins and their families enjoy getting together at fabulous Lake Winnipesaukee.
