Default Trump at Weirs Beach

Went to see Trump at the Weirs Community Center last night. Very crowded, very hot, very interesting.

There were many more people outside than could fit in the building.

http://www.laconiadailysun.com/index...wows-the-weirs

The LaDaSun has two great photos of the crowd, and the Republican candidate.

"Trump continues straightforward campaigning in front of overflow Laconia crowd" ... google that for the Concord Monitor article which has about 20-photos of the big crowd that came to see him at Weirs Beach ... maybe you can find yourself in one of the photos!

And, as an American action super-hero with a windy haircut, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Trump ... has been a member of the Republican, Democratic and Reform party, so he could evenly represent everyone, unlike 47% Mitt Romney, who had perfect hair!

Hey there Mr Mitt ...... "You're fired!" ...... the Donald..... say-hey....maybe a ticket of Donald and Mitt, with Mitt for vice president ...... you know ..... the bad hair - good hair team

The fact that Trump is leading the polls just tells you how easily people are manipulated.

If history is any indicator, if Trump becomes president the country will go bankrupt multiple times and we'll all have bad hair.

Seriously, though--does ANYONE outside of the six-gun shootin' Chevy-truck-with-Calvin-peeing-on-a-Ford-emblem driver think he'd be a good president?!

Sorry for my inflammatory remarks--'MURICA!

Default Important Question

If Hillary wins the election will the Clinton's bring back the furniture that they stole from the White House?

No, really, I mean it! Thats such a good dig on Hillary! I bet once she reads that she will withdraw immediately realizing that NOW she cant win. You are SO clever!

Ok, so now, seroiusly, what I want to know is did fish & game ensure that that thing on Trumps head leave the state with him? Because if that thing got loose on the shores of Winnipesaukee theres no telling how much damage it could do!

Default Believe it or not

In the early 90's, we were looking for a new (replacement) boat. We started in Atlantic City, because we were there on other business. Donald Trump was there for similar business, except he came with the "Trump Princess", (282 ft I think). I bought a Trump Princess polo shirt with heavy gold embroidery in the shape of a seahorse as a souvenir. After the AC boat show, we started moving up the coast stopping at marinas along the way, shopping. Loved that 34' Tollycraft. When we got to Newport, RI, we decided, unknowingly, to stay at the Goat Island Sheraton. That was Thursday, dealer night prior to the Newport Power Boat Show. Again, unknowing, I was wearing khaki shorts, boat shoes and my new "Trump Princess" shirt. Wherever we went in the hotel, we saw/heard people following and whispering. They thought we were Trump's advance crew and that he was coming to the show as was the Princess. We, of course, denied everything, which only added to the story. We didn't know then how much fun it was to be famous.

As Hillary says, "At this point, what difference does it make?"

Just a fun memory of seeing "The Donald" in AC and having a little follow on in Newport.

In a presidential sense, this is a guy who knows where he wants to go, where this country should go, and how to get there, with no BS about it.

Good to have somebody with an appreciation of boating. (I'm sure the 'Princess' had boats aboard that were 'our size'. Princess later sold to somebody n Japan for $110MM. Similar price to our boats, give or take a decimal point or three.)

From ABC News (and you know if the liberal press reported it this way it was putting the best spin on the story to help the Clinton's)

After they were criticized for taking $190,000 worth of china, flatware, rugs, televisions, sofas and other gifts with them when they left, the Clintons announced last week that they would pay for $86,000 worth of gifts, or nearly half the amount.

Their latest decision to send back $28,000 in gifts brings to $114,000 the value of items the Clintons have either decided to pay for or return.

McDaniel discussed the matter Wednesday with Betty Monkman, the White House curator, and Gary Walters, the chief usher, or executive manager of the White House.

They were reviewing the gifts the Clintons chose to keep after $28,000 worth of items were found on a list of donations the Park Service received for the 1993 White House redecoration project. The Washington Post this week quoted three people who said that they assumed the furnishings they donated for the project would stay in the White House.

“As a result of questions about the status of certain property donated to the White House during the Clinton administration, the National Park Service will accept the return of the property in question and act as a custodian of such property,” according to a statement released by the Park Service, which administers the White House as a unit of the national park system.

Default Very entertaining

I love threads like this! I'm always intrigued by which reality that people's perspective is filtered through. Most for better or worse usually have hard time listening to any opinion different from their own. Again ....for better or worse... you at least know what the Donald is all about. He's not hiding anything. It remains to be seen if the country is fed up enough with the current conditions to make a drastic change in direction. I haven't decided on my candidate yet but I love this stuff and follow it closely!!!

When he attacked John McCain for his service, when he didn't serve, he's dead to veteran voters.
And veterans do tend to vote.

Default Vets tend to Vote?

That must be why Obama the mystery man beat McCain the war hero in '08, right?

The problem is more "low information" voters showed up to vote than veterans.

But the much larger problem is the low information community is multiplying!

We have 4 retired U.S. army generals that are friends of the family as the result of my mom marrying a retired colonel when they were both in their 70's. After his passing my mom kept in touch through the son of the 3 star in the group. In 2008, with great surprise, each of the 4 independently chose to vote for a skinny black kid with a middle name of hussein. They all gave the exact same 2 word reason why they would do such a thing. "Sarah Palin".

If my candidate wins it's because of the low information voter. If your candidate wins it's because voters are more educated now.

And they wanted this as a president instead of that incredibly remote possibility as a vice.

They must be in a different army than what I am used to.

Don't you know that some people have all the luck ...... and the Donald lucked out big on Dec 1, 1969, when he lucked into receiving #356 out of a possible 365 in the first Vietnam draft lottery..... which basically guaranteed that he would not be selected for military service.

Question Clown?

Y'know, a TV personality called Trump, "A rodeo clown".

I thought that was an insult , until I realized the lifesaving-importance of rodeo clowns.

The difference between John McCain and Donald Trump is Trump shot himself down!
Here's another notable difference between the two...
Trump was granted 5 deferments to avoid serving our country. McCain was awarded 5 of the nation's highest military honors...The Silver Star, the Bronze Star, the Legion Of Merit, the Purple Heart and the Distinguished Flying Cross.

And, John MCCain has a few things to say about Donald Trump: http://www.newyorker.com/news/news-d...t-donald-trump

....it's probably all done for the Donald with his shooting his mouth off on John MCCain's military service? ..... oh well .....the election is over a year away, in November 2017.

Here's another interesting item in the link to the New Yorker magazine ..... you can click on "Trump Says He Heroically Avoided Capture in Vietnam by Staying in the U.S." and actually drew some applause with that line in Iowa.

..... hmmmm .... not the lines you expect to hear from a serious candidate....it's probably time to stick a fork into the Donald ... because he is done. Mr Donald ..... you are fired!

Obviously we'll all never agree on the subject of politics but I would hope that we would not make disparaging comments to others who hold different views. I just enjoy hearing about any of the candidates who visit the Lakes Region, regardless of their party or politics.

Looks like you will miss the election if you use "November 2017" as the date.

So right, Everyone with the snied remarks, how about using your supperior intelect, not let a party" that obviously cares more about the party and power" decide how you should think. I don't understand why everyone isn't an independant.

Well said LadyJane. I hope we never have a thread about politics.
Everyone seems to get along so well on this forum it would be a shame to get everyone arguing. Seen it on other forums and it's not pretty.

Whole point of the story is that these guys were not political for politics sake. They are hard core natl security voters but they are, well were, professionals that dealt with that reality. EVERYONE that knows them were surprised. Palin was to them a real enough risk to change their vote. Veterans are not monolithically republicans. I believe the breakdown is around 60/40 for republicans.
The Colonel himself was a republican. Cant really call him "stepfather" as I was 41 when I met him. He would discount Kerry's purple heart while pumping up my nephew's first even when his wound was a more minor one than Kerrys. Despite his leanings he came to see Cheney as a bad actor regarding Iraq. The REALITY is more complicated than the partisan and childish stuff that often rolls out in threads like this.

However, I still gotta say this fascination with Trump for President is astonishingly funny to me. My apologies to anyone who took offense.

Wait a minute. Wasn't Chrisite walking down the main street during the July 4th parade? How is he any different. He has more than once slammed this guy. Only because Chrisite will not give him an answer on the question he keeps asking. He went as far as having him removed from one of his meetings.

The Republicans don't have 3 major networks, PBS and most of the newspapers lying for them and spinning and pushing everything in their direction.

That's why we have who we have in there today - and to some degree why we have the senate we have.

I think very little of this matters when compared to social media--it took two seconds for Romney's percent-on-the-system comment and Trump's McCain comments to go viral.

The two things that I like about Trump are that he is not a career DC politician and he is not afraid to say what many think. With that said, he needs to learn how to rephrase his thoughts because they do not come out smooth enough. Republicans do not get a do over or a here is what I really meant chance. I would love to see a President who is not afraid of political correctness. There are many hard truths that need to be brought to the surface and dealt with. Though I'm not sure that America is ready to rip off the band-aid yet.

Our government is supposed to be by the people and for the people. We have allowed for it to become a government for those who can buy it. It is OUR fault. Vote them ALL out and start giving the regular folks a chance at representing us. That was the whole point in the first place, right?

Trump may not be the prime choice but NO more Clinton's or Bush's!!!!

If you judge who watches the evening news by what commercials they run...it's all old people on prescriptions and people who need help with certain bodily functions. Whereas a recent "on the street" poll I saw recently had many people saying they get all their news from FACEBOOK!!!

"low information voters" will be the death of a once great nation.

Again, I do think it's largely the liberal media. For instance, Romney's comment about the "47%" is probably essentially correct. For me, I didn't have any problem with it.

Of course the media, pushing for the left wing, would immediately jump on this as a negative and give it as much publicity as possible. But you never hear much about Biden or other lefties who make totally stupid comments. "Nothing to see here folks, move along" when it comes to this.

Why the media is so far to the left is a total mystery to me; one would think that intelligent people would have some idea of common sense, human nature and history. Maybe it is just blind idealism. I know a lot of really smart people who fall into this....

The "media" are where you perceive them to be.

There are left-wingers and right-wingers all over the radio and cable television. If one hears what one agrees with, it gets a nod and one moves on.
If one hears what one disagrees with, one gets up in arms and denounces the proponent and the particular medium which is carrying the "information".

Such is life.

It would be nice if the media were balanced, however they are not and you cannot get a balanced picture. For instance, for my situation here - there is no cable TV - we get the "big 3" and PBS. ALL of those are quite liberal in their bias in presenting the "news" (often editorialized), much of which should actually fall under the "entertainment" category anyway, but that's another story.

A lot of talk radio is conservative, but I don't know too many women who listen to talk (yes, there are some, but it's largely a male audience), so there's a big portion of the voter base being fed the leftie line from the big 3 because of course that is a "trusted" source.

Then of course there are the newspapers. Any biggies like the Boston Globe, NY Times, etc conservative? None that I know of around here.

The amazing thing, is that I know real couple in New Hampshire who WILL NOT EVER VOTE FOR ANY REPUBLICAN because they absolutely believe "The Republicans" want to take away social security. Their main news source? CNN. These folks are actually conservative in their core beliefs, but have been completely brainwashed by whatever lies or distortions CNN is putting out there.

When I asked them - did you actually hear a real recording or see any video of any Republican saying they wanted to eliminate social security, or did you hear a "news" person say this. The latter was the answer.

Just amazing !

And this is why political parties are evil because anyone who wins said nomination of party X or Y now becomes enslaved to their 'platform' and sadly is unable to say or do what they think is best without running it through the prism of whatever party they belong to.

You'd like to think potential candidates are measured on the merit of their stated objectives and beliefs, not judged based on political party affiliation.

Default ....... Donald or Hillary?

Am honestly having a tough time deciding between The Donald and Hillary in next Tuesday's primary. Donald really makes me laugh ...... just like the late, great Rodney Dangerfield ...... another New Yorker .... Rodney had a delivery somewhat similar to The Donald .... plus Donald Trump also says a lot of things that honestly, really connect with me.

Will definitely vote for Hillary in the general election in November....but just may go with Donald in the primary just to help him along ....and keep him in this race.

Let's go Donald-NEW HAMPSHIRE .....go Donald go! ..... hut-hut-hut .... and who will pay to build that wall?

And, it is definitely best not to believe everything that either Donald or Bernie says ........ so much pie-in-the sky, Bernie!

But yet you'll believe anything that Clinton says? Forget Walmart and Lowes, FLL. You should promptly go to LRGH to have your head examined.

Being from NJ, I can honestly say that Christie is the worst governor we have ever had. Since he has been in office, NJ has declined in all areas. Just letting my NH friends in on the truth about him.

.....as Ronald Reagan said; " ....nothing succeeds like success" and "you cannot argue with success" and it now seems to be looking like the November election will be Donald vs Hillary .....and that's about eight months time to make up one's mind ......the actual act of voting in Meredith at the community center usually takes less than ten minutes total, from the time you park your car, to the time you leave.....and blackening the small square for your candidate takes maybe 15-seconds.....so's having 8-months to think about it is plenty time.

As a local fruit loop lefty liberal, it boogles my mind now to be seriously thinking about going with the Donald. Anyone see him last night at his 10-pm super Tuesday press conference ....... he can sometimes come across like a gangster, but at the press conference he seemed to be almost presidential......plus he says stuff in about 20-seconds that make a lot of sense like "this country has so many problems now with the roads, schools, healthcare, defense, and immigration" which covers a lot....oh well.....election day is Nov 8 ....

PS: I think you should go with The Donald. It's the "Right Thing to Do".

Don't forgot to vote for your State & local candidates and referendum issues that may on the ballot. Too many people just check one and consider it done.

Default ...... "Donald Trump" .... the movie!

One year from now in June, 2017, coming to the red box, dvd rental, or to netflix, or to a theatre near you ...... it will be "President Trump" the movie, starring Will Ferrell as 'the Donald' and Donald Trump himself will have a brief cameo appearance.

I predict it will be a big hit ...... President Trump ..... the movie!

If only Rodney Dangerfield were still alive and here to play the part of the Donald.... but Will Ferrell can also do a super-duper portrayal.

Maybe Meryl Streep can play Hillary as the candidate and the president?

Who can play Mitt Romney? ......maybe ..... I give up ....I dunno?

Pamela Smart will play the part of Hillary Rob-'em Clinton. Smart already has years of experience with prison life, so she'll need little training or practice to play the part. By that time the Queen will have hopefully been indicted, and well on the path to her final residence at Club Fed.

If Jimmy Stewart was still acting, he could be a good Mitt.

Maybe Bill Murray who is age-65 could be a good Mitt?
