Default Hydraulic tilt failing

My Yamaha 100's hydraulic tilt won't stay in the full up position. Piston must be leaking slowly. Takes about ten minutes for it to drop back fully. Hoping this isn't a major repair and am curious what I could check on my own before dropping it off for service. Thanks.

Do you see any sign of it leaking? I suspect a internal failre of the ram from what you are indicating...

At anyrate the expense to fix this issue is going to be very dependent on labor rates... The hydrolic parts are likely to be spendy as well... so shop around....
