Default Fidium service outage

Anyone have information of Fidium's current service outage? It appears that Moultonborough has many customers who have lost service. Any info would be much appreciated.

No info about cause. Internet was fine last night. Got up today, no internet service. ONT box and router in my living room have lights on that usually mean all is good. Called 844-434-3466 and robo message says they're working on system.

???

Default Fidium outage details

Service went out about 00:10AM. Still out at 13:00. Given the size of outage and cell service down here and there, likely a fiber trunk outage. This is the first bad mark on Fidium and the length of outage, it is one to remember.

Email to their customers said...
Dear Valued Customer,
We are currently experiencing a service outage in New Hampshire. There is no need to report the outage. We understand how critical it is to restore service, and our Emergency Operations Team is working diligently to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.
Sincerely,
Fidium Customer Support Team

Just got a text message and an email message from Fidium saying not to bother to call them on the outage ... they're working on it.

I have VoIP (not cell) with Fidium and it is still out. It should be since it is tied into the back of the ONT. We have Verizon cell service.

I got the text on my cell.

I got the email on the Spectrum modem and router which is alongside of the Fidium ONT and router. As luck would have it, I've been comparing the two. Going with Fidium (maybe) since the download speeds have been a little better than Spectrum and Fidium is symetrical.

I've already discontinued Spectrum but luckily, I've got till Nov.9th till Spectrum pulls the plug.

Just saw a 12:30 pm e-mail from Consolidated Communications that says, “We are currently experiencing a service outage in New Hampshire.” Sounds like a wide ranging situation.

Default Back up at 4:30 (10/15)

Fidium came back up around 4:30PM. It took two reboots of the modem and my router too before bits started flowing again but it has been stable since. That's over 16 hours of downtime. That gives them a maximum of 97.78% uptime for a 30 day window. Someone has some splaining to do.

The wife and I just got back from Hart's. As soon as we get into the house, my mail box alarm goes off. It's set up on Fidium internet. Great! That meant Fidium is back up. Didn't do anything, except go pick up mail in mail box on the road.

Just did speedtest on OOKLA and Google speedtest; Ookla download/upload 408/397; Google speedtest 554/403

Will still wait a week or so to bring to UPS store in N.Conway the Spectrum modem and router for returns/turn-in.

Finally got back on line yesterday like many others. However, internet and wireless TV were working slow and intermittent. Decided to reboot everything this morning by just unplugging for 10 minutes. Bingo....all back perfectly. So if you are have a few issues, just try a full reboot. Worked for me.

Good advice!

Reboot Modem and Router: Power cycle your modem and router to refresh the connection and potentially resolve temporary issues.

Went back online and discovered I don't have Fidium again? I got it back yesterday and was working great???

I just set up, again, the Spectrum modem and router that I had boxed up to return and I'm back online. I'm using my laptop. The settings "Show available networks" does not show Fidium, only Spectrum. I live on Moultonboro Neck Rd. where I'm using my laptop

Are other Fidium users, on this forum, that were down yesterday, and then back up, down again?

Don't know if, maybe, cell service can get to this forum and read my last post or other means to get online.?

Thanks in advance for info.

Last note on this from me.

I just got off the phone 1-844-434-3486 with a Fidium tech. Mentioned that I still wasn't getting online. He checked my ONT and Router from there and said the router was the problem (not the system, like before). He said to check the A/C connection on the router. I pushed in the connector on the router and the AC jack on the wall plug, and I got the Fidium internet back! Hallelujah!

Google speedtest ... down/up 472/498

Default Outage due to software "upgrade"

https://www.wmur.com/article/consoli...tored/62616061

Yet another software upgrade gone awry! This keeps happening. We're so worried about foreign nations doing this, but we keep doing it to ourselves.

Anybody else notice download/upload speeds drastically changed yesterday and today, since the system went backup? Now barely getting 100Mbps? I have the 1Gig plan, as I did with Spectrum. Spectrum was always a bit less than Fidium, although Fidium is symetrical. See my post prior:

Last one.

Rebooting the ONT and the router (unplug, wait a bit and re-plug) seems to be resetting the hardware.

470.1 Mbps download 430.6 Mbps upload now.

Don't know if this will continue. I have till Nov. 9th till I have to return Spectrum boxes. This will make my decision on which broadband provider to go with.

I’m consistently running at 941mbps down 870 to 930 mbps up before and after the outage. Latency consistently at 8-10ms, highest 12ms.

Been pretty happy with Fidium so far.

Make sure you are testing the modem not your WiFi/router speed.

Thanks for the feedback.
Actually, I'm happy with anything close to 500-600 Mbps. I'm using my laptop for the speedtest and the speedtest are OOKLA and Google speedtests. Right now around 7:00 am I'm getting download/upload for Ookla at 423/601; Google at 439/473.

Pretty sure the tests are on both the ONT and router.

The "settings' on my laptop for "Network & internet, aggregated link speed", shows 866/866 Mbps.

My Android Fidium speedtest on the Fidium Attune app shows 1128/1107Mbps.

I'm testing wireless, not hardwired.

I suspect my speedtest has a lot to do with my older laptop and the 17 devices the systems says I have connected. Most are wireless like my multiple Spypoint cameras in the woods of our property. I do have an ethernet camera on my backdeck, however. The wife and like animal pics sent wireless. I'm not a hunter, however. I haven't hunted since Vietnam... May 1967 to Feb. 1969
