Shots are very cool. but the site is a little clunky, with a lack of scroll bars. Like to see what they have to offer when more content is up!

Default What I wouldn't give!

Wow, what I wouldn't give to be a passenger in that aircraft when they're shooting in this region! The photos are beautiful. Thanks for letting us know, McDude!

Default Where is it?

Hey mcdude, thanks for the links you have been posting, cool.

Where is that picture in your post? I thought it might be Wolfeboro in the center of the pix ???

You are correct, it's Wolfeboro in center of photo with Wentworth lake in foreground bottom and Back Bay in between. At upper left corner you can see the mouth of Alton Bay. What I'm unsure about is the sliver of blue water that in the upper right corner. From this perspective I might even think it's Paugus Bay. If it's not, I don't know what lake it is.

I used Mapquest to detmine what bodies of water were visible in this picture. Using Rattlesnake to make a quick approximation, I think you can see Paugus Bay. I think it's the blue sliver that extends 5% from the right side of the picture. The larger sliver (extending about 20% from the right) is Winnisquam.

Approximate sight lines:

Default I Concur!

Very good detective work. Here is a shot from the top of Gunstock. At the top of the lift you are looking west and see Lake Winnisquam.

....and....from 1/2 way up Belknap Mountain, on a recent hike, here is Winnisquam to the west.

In FlyGuy's Aerial, Gunstock is the tall peak to the far right and Belknap is the second one over and is the tallest.
My place is up and over the Belknap Range in the upper left hand corner. It looks like there is some blue there but it is probably just fog rolling up the mountain!
Other details I noted in the aerial photo were the lay-out of Kingswood Golf Club in the lower left and the Wolfeboro Airport out on the neck.

It's Wolfeboro, all right, but it's Heath Brook at the foreground bottom, and Crescent Lake prominant in the lower foreground (shaped a bit like Casper the Ghost). Lake Wentworth is out of sight -- behind the pilot.

BTW, Kingswood golf course looks like the perfect deer-browse area, if not Canada Geese "browse". (Perfect deer browse = trees-lawn-trees-lawn-trees-lawn-trees-lawn-trees-lawn-trees-lawn-trees-lawn-trees....)

I wonder if more golf courses aren't the reason for more deer.

Deer are not animals that graze on grass. During the Spring and Summer months the deer eat a vast assortment of leaves, twigs and low growing plants. In the Fall many white tailed deer switch their diet to fallen mast crops such as acorns.

Nice! I found two very clear shots that show "our" part of the Lake -- thinking of ordering. Thanks for the update.
