Spindle Point Area
All:
For the summer of 2017 my family and I have rented a house in the area of Spindle Point at the end of Meredith Bay. The past 2 years we were up in the Hanson Cove area of the lake and ventured down to 19 mile bay and Braun Bay. I have never boated to that side of the lake and wanted to know of some cool areas to hang out/anchor or see. Also any good sand bars in that area? Also any other major hazards besides the witches? Thanks LA |

Hanson Cove and Meredith Bay are like two different worlds, especially if you are on the southwest side of Spindle Point. Lots more places to go, tie up, etc in the Meredith area. Check the threads on the Restaurant pages. Lakes Region Conservation Trust members can hike on Stonedam Island. The Witches are famous, but to me well marked, with wide passage on all sides More difficult areas for navigation are the Forties, (island group between Bear and Welch Is.) and Sally's Gut, behind Stonedam.
