Default Mary Kate fiberglass on/off boat wash ??

I am getting better at using this product...this time i had my rubber gloves and the hose nearby..it did a great job removing the scum line on my boat BUT...it really discolors the bottom paint of my boat and shows some drip lines on the bottom paint as well. Does anyone have any thoughts on how I could avoid this?
