Default Fastest Internet Speed on Cow Island?

Thinking of buying a property on Cow Island.

I'm hoping to work remote from there for part of the summer, so Internet is a must.

I've seen mention of Fairpoint, but that might be limited to 1.5 mb.

I feel like I'd need a bare min of 10/10 mb for Video Conferencing etc.

We had the fastest available put in about 3 or 4 years ago, and it’s only 6 MBPS. I also heard recently that the lines for Consolidated (formerly Fairpoint) are maxed out on Cow so they are not able to install any additional internet hookups on the island. I don’t have personal knowledge, but saw it posted and also heard the same from a neighbor. So if you are buying a place, make sure they already have internet and have them keep it connected so you can take over the hookup.

In case anyone is looking I think I found a solution.

It's called MOFI. Add another line to your cellular plan, get a SIM card for it and pop into this.

Probably cheaper than HughsNet or FairPoint and no latency issues.
Works with AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile.

You probably want a plan that doesn't throttle.

We were paying like $65 for FairPoint for fairly slow speeds over on NewFound lake.

I have not tested this myself but reviews confirm it seems to work for most people. Seems popular with RV owners.
