Community Landmarks Tour
Sunday, August 8, 2010

Lecture and Lunch - 11 am -1 pm; Tour 1-4 pm

'Historic Inns and Estates of
Moultonborough Neck and Long Island'


The Moultonborough Heritage Commission will hold its first Community Landmarks Tour
on Sunday, August 8, 2010, in collaboration with the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance.
The Heritage Commission is dedicated to promoting the appreciation and protection
of significant historical and cultural resources in Moultonborough.


The tour will visit five sites, including two private properties listed on the
National Register of Historic Places and focus on key sites of
boarding house tourism and summer estate building from c. 1880-1920.
There will be an introductory lecture, 'Historic Inns and Estates of Moultonborough
Neck and Long Island' by Cristina Ashjian, Chair of the Moultonborough Heritage
Commission, followed by a boxed lunch and a self-guided tour at Geneva Point Center.
After lunch, participants will independently tour four area properties.


NHPA Members $30; Non-Members $40.
$5 discount if purchased by July 30th.

I guess that history of the area is high on the list

$40 Are you kidding ?
I love seeing old historic buildings, but there would have to be Lobster or Prime Rib in that "box lunch" for me to part with $40 of my hard earned money.
