Default Faro and Faro Express

1) Faro Express on Union Avenue has changed names to Bernini, not sure if its the same owners or if its open yet.

2) Faro in the Weirs looks like it has some interior renovations going on, a flooring company is there today

Anyone have information on either of these restaurants?

Didn't Faro Weirs get sold before Covid? Just after they opened Faro Express I believe.

Not sure but I pass it everyday and this is the first time I’ve seen work going on inside.

It's got a strange history since it was The Lobster Pound. A very entertaining one that can probably be recreated on this Forum...Including (I'll clean this up) kissing butt, in a graphic way. A worker, prior owner of another restaurant, having an on-line breakdown... Now back together and owns a great little place...And some etcetera's, etc...

Faro Express was excellent. Let’s hope the new place is just as good.

All I can say is the original owner of Faro’s & Faro’s express has sold his interests in the Express to a long standing member of his staff and you can expect to see new additions to the menu along with old time (Faro’s) favorites.

They are currently renovating the Express.

The menu is on FB - attached for the FB challenged.

They are keeping some of the old items that were awesome, so that's great news. If the pizza stays the same I'll be thrilled - they had the BEST pizza around.

They added some pricey entrees, good for them. Pricing for good pasta dishes or pizza is perfectly reasonable, and no reason to think quality would dip, so I cannot wait!

I believe it was bought by the Csendes. They own a few properties in the Weirs.

I'll take homemade/ fresh made any day over Fratellos. I haven't been there in years so maybe they've changed, but I'm not going back anytime soon. Pasta costs near zero to make, I don't get why every Italian restaurant doesn't go that route.

So you are correct, there is a price disparity on some things, and people who shop strictly on price may pass. But if people shopped strictly on price instead of quality we wouldn't have O's, Canoe, The Woodshed, Tavern 27 (crossing fingers there), etc. It's nice to have another upper end option on this side of the lake that isn't a steakhouse, so good luck to them.

Default Work Ongoing

Interior works seems to be going on just about everyday and the parking lot is currently being resealed and new parking space lines.

Very curious as to the type of restaurant it will be.
