Default Book: Farewell Old Mount

Hi All,

Doing some off-season research-with I might add some help from all of you on Winni.com-thank you.

Question: Looking for a copy of Mr. Blackstones' book "Farewell Old Mount".

I have found some copies available on the 'Net for $100- $150 dollars in varying condition-not a sum I would like to spend. I'm not cheap, just frugal. Happy to spend money for worthwhile results.

Any help out there? I have a call into the LW Historical Society to see if they have a copy of the book on-site, but no response yet. Will call the Laconia Library tomorrow.

I would also be interested in simply borrowing someones copy. If I have to buy it I will.

Watch for some great stuff 2010 that I have planned to dive and then post next year; If all goes well not only will these targets not be found on any chart (like the 42 foot steamboat I found on side-scan) but they to my knowledge, have never been seen since they went down except by perhaps 1 or 2 divers; I can't say now for site-security purposes what/where they are but if I find them it will be-to me at least-amazing.

Thank you for your help.

Diver111

I will post videos and pictures as I did with the "Pile-Driver" barge.

Default Interesting!

Hoping to bang out some more of the lake sites this up coming spring and summer as well. I will be looking on the boards frequently when the weather starts to warm back up to get the pulse of who is diving and see if we can get a group together once in a while....

Come around to Dive Winnipesaukee in Wolfeboro and ask. There's a pretty solid network of divers who frequent that joint, who are out and about nearly every week. I will re-start my Winni dive season in early May and go through September, and hopefully through Columbus Day weekend this coming year. There are so many good sites, and so many that warrant revisiting. Let's dive!

Default Farewell Old Mount

Found a copy using the free inter-library loan system-have it now-wow-this is one amazing book; While I have in my possession about 6 books on Winni this one as far as detail and photos goes is remarkable.

Also found one on the Net I just bought for $50.00.

More to come as I research and explore Winni wrecks.

The library in Lee NH has a copy. It had only been signed out three times in 20 years hidden gem I guess.
