Moultonboro Snowmobile Culb News

The Sandwich Fair and our first dinner Meeting were most successful.

We had a lot of activity at the booth. The weather on Saturday and Sunday was quite agreeable. Several people commented about seeing the Tucker at Heaths Hardware and made it a point to stop at the booth. Raffle tickets were selling very briskly. There were several new members that signed up at the Fair. A Big Thanks again to John Anderson and all those who helped make it a success.

The dinner meeting was very well attended, with some 34 members in attendance. The food was delicious and ample. Every one got a chance to mingle and talk of the great riding season to come. Some the topics ranged from Trail work, last years dismal snow, anticipated riding this year and NHSA politics. We had our tradition Raffle for both Trails and Easter Seals. There were at least 25 items presented for the raffle and none were left at the end of the drawing.

Fall Trail Work has started for this season. Anyone wanting to help only needs to show up at the Club Garage on Saturdays at 8:30 am. Dress appropriately for the conditions and bring a pair of work gloves. Check the website for up-to-date information www.moultonborosmc.com .

Most of the “heavy work” is now completed on the “109” side of town. This past Saturday the work crew, headed by Brian Hall, started a re-rout of Corridor 15 along Moultonboro Neck Rd. behind the Bernstein property and up towards the “Veggie Shed”. This re-route will straighten out that area of the trail and make it a lot easier to get the TUCKER through.
There is still a lot of work, trails need to be walked, checked for blow downs, brush needs to be cleared, fencing and signage put up. If you have the time please come and help us get these tasks done while the weather is still favorable. We have a limited amount of good Saturdays to accomplish all of the tasks.

Upcoming Club Events
Annual Safety Course: December 15th at the Geneva Point Conference Center, 108 Geneva Point Rd, Moultonborough, NH (off Moultonboro Neck Road). Please check the website for further information.

Club Trip: Presque Isle, Maine, Sunday January 27th and return on Friday February 1st. Check the website for further information.

Saturday Club Rides: Check website for details. www.moultonborosmc.com

Speaking of trail rides this season; I have been following the Trail work the Ossipee Valley Snowmobile Club has been doing this year. Sounds like some real good riding. They have done some major work on the trail the runs White Lake State Park to Sandwich Notch. How’s this for a ride? Start at the Club Garage, go up and over the Castle, down to Tamworth, corridor 19 to the State Park, take the “Bowles Trail to Sandwich Notch, go to either Squam or Little Squam and back to the garage.

We have added a “Classifieds” page to the website. If you have any thing you want to list please send copy to Teri Eichhorn @ theresae@suscom-maine.net. Keep it simple and to the point and only related to snowmobiling.

See you on the Trails, George Higgins
