Default Tips for Salmon/Trout in May

Heading up to the lake tomorrow with my two boys. We usually fish in the summer time, but wanted to try some early season salmon fishing. Anyone have the latest on what depth salmon are being caught? Assume they are still very close to the surface. Plan to try a combination of streamers and live smelt. Much thanks...

Check out www.fishlakewinni.com Lots of information on that site. Also, stop by AJ's bait store in Meredith he is always willing to share tips. Have fun.

Trolling lead core, three colors out and with a 4 lb fluorocarbon leader about 50 feet long. Blaze Orange and chrome top gun.

Won't say where, but will say trolling over underwater structures are your best bet. Bottom ranged from 90 to about 30 feet.

Default On the Ossipee lake

Just got back from there Friday.

We did very well. Dowm 20 feet on the riggers and three colors of lead on the flat rods. Hottest lure was the orange with black dots D_B Smelt. Did get some on the silver with blue stripe D_B.

Will post pick of Mrs ToW and her Brown when I upload it.

Here is the pic of Mrs ToW and her Brown.
