Default Laker depth?

How deep are you guys fishing for lakers these days? Anyone using lead core line? I was fishing a couple weeks ago and went down about six colors but didn't have any luck with lakers. Thanks!

Hi Jeff;

Pretty soon they will be on the bottom and some are now, but you can still catch them and I have been in the 30' - 35' range (6-7 colors of lead). If you have a fish finder look for areas with a lot of structure and drop offs and troll a little slower than you would for salmon. If you a see a couple sitting on the bottom with your fish finder, try stopping and jig for them. I have a lot of fun doing this late in the summer!!

Good luck!

Dan
