Registration Decals
I noticed something different on the 2010 boat registration decals that were not on previous decals (that I'm aware of). It appears as though the stickers no longer have a plain colored background, but rather have a design or watermark.
Would this be to curb counterfeit decals? I can't imagine anybody trying to get away with something like that, but then again, I've seen just about everything!

I remember a story from years ago in the Nashua newspaper. A customer at the Lechmere store was printing fake auto inspection stickers on the color printers. Someone called the police and they arrested or ticketed him. This was back when a color printer was still an expensive novelty.
I also remember having some fun back in those days with early laser printers and FAX machines. You could make some really convincing fake documents and FAX them to your friends. Almost lost a few friends that way. |

If you were ever to get pulled over, you'd need to provide the proof of registration. Once they call in your fake reg #, you're sure to get hooked up...
Just seems like a huge risk to save $50, IMO.
