Default Lake Winnipesaukee Golf Club

Curious if anyone has the Green Speed rating at Lake Winnipesaukee Golf Club? I am playing in a tournament there this weekend and I would like to compare it to my home course.

I would call the Club directly....
As someone who has rated golf courses on behalf of the Vermont Women's Golf Assocation, I can tell you that unless you have a stimp meter and take several readings on several greens , only the club's staff would have that info.
It also depends on whether the greens have been recently aerated, as well as rolled!
Give them a call!

Default I'm curious

I thought LWGC is a private club. Are you playing with a member or are there opportunities for public access.

I am a member of a national amateur golf tour and this is one of the tournaments on the schedule for the New England Region of the tour.

The course is very private and this tournament only allows for 52 participants instead of the usual 72, which ties into their private image.

Default Great memories

I belong to the club back when it was Perry Hollow. Huge difference in cost of membership but still a fun course to play back then. Just wish I could play it as it is now, never got the chance after it converted. Something about the $60K bond kind of got me.

my dad and I played a couple of years ago, at the time you could go once as a non-member at a steep price $350 or there abouts. nice course but not that nice. I also played there many times when it was perry hollow. that nine is now the back nine.

Default Other Changes...

As noted, the old front nine is now the back nine, and the old back nine is now the front nine. A change to the new front nine is that they built a whole new first hole. The old tenth hole is now the second, and the eleventh is the third, etc.

The old 18th hole is no more. The old 17th is now number 9, and the prior hole, now number 8 was a par four, but now it is a long par five, with what could be two blind shots after the drive. Nice hole.

Course is nice, improved over the Perry Hollow days, but unless I hit those six numbers on a Wed or Sat night, their initiation fee and annual costs is well above my capabilities as well.

Do enjoy the round. The last time I did play over there ( a few years back), the greens were medium fast, not as fast as Lochmere's greens normally are. LW's greens do have some undulation to them.

Default Unusual layout

The one unusual thing I do remember about the course is that no two holes abut each other (side by side). I have never seen this at another course before.

Thank you for the information on the greens. I was unable to get more than a similar response from the course, likely because I am not a member, but will check again on Saturday.

One of the reasons I joined this particular tour was that the courses I can access around the country are at the top of the impressive list.

Innisbrook (Copperhead) and TPC Sawgrass (Stadium) are just two of the options and those are multi-day events. All the events are individual flighted stroke. Not a road to PGA thing, just a fun way to challenge yourself and play some great tracks for a non-scratch golfer.

LWGC was the first tournament I registered for, knowing that is is one of the top tracks in NE made it a no-brainer and I can't wait!

Thanks again for the info and the background!

Call Bob Hughes at Spencer Hughes Real Estate 569-6060. I believe he plays that course all the time and I am willing to bet he could tell you.
