Nursery recommendation?

My mother is looking for recommendations for reasonably priced nurseries in the area with a large selection of plants available. We are in Tuftonboro, but she will go anywhere around the lake for a great place.

We also like Spider Web. Don't forget that there is still the problem with standard impatiens. The disease is called 'Downey Mildew' and will wipe out your impatiens in a few days. Apparently, there is no current 'fix'. The disease doesn't affect new guinea impatiens.

I didn't realize there was a problem. I like the New Guineas better anyway. They don't have such a high water requirement.

Yes, Spider Web is excellent.

There is a large plant/tree/nursery off Exit 23 - off Route 93 - Route 104 - which may be long drive for folks on other end of lake. One building down from Dunkin Donuts on 104.

Mike Dion has a nursery on Route 25 in Moultonborough/Center Harbor.

The big box stores carry a selecton of plants and shrubs.

I purchased - mail order - one of the large mailed catalogs - a "yellow" lilac.
About 15 years ago.
It seemed to grow very slowly. No flowers in 14 years. I had just about given up.
This year it finally flowered.
"Yellow" lilacs?
Nope.
Purple.
So much for the pretty pictures in the mailed catalog of "yellow" lilacs.

Tried to purchase Rose of Sharon locally. Searched all over. I was told by one nursery that Rose of Sharon does not grow in this climate.
Purchase 3 Rose of Sharon - mail order - years ago.
Al 3 Rose of Sharon have bloomed wonderfully for years and years.
Rose of Sharon is a late season bloomer.

I have 3 Rose of Sharon. One was given to my wife by my grandmother who has since passed, we relocated this bush two summers ago and is still going strong.
The other two I purchased last year at my local nursery Springledge Farm in New London.

Most people hear Hibiscus and think that they do not grow in this climate. That is completely false, there are a few species that do quite well, we have two other species of Hibiscus (besides the Rose of Sharon's) and they all do quite well and were purchased locally at Springledge.

Hibiscus is similar to Rhodadendruns in that there are so many varieties within the general species.

It is quite a drive for most of you, but therir selection and knowledge is second to none. Most of their small plants come from D.S. Cole in Loudon.
They have one of the best selections of ornamental shrubs and trees in this area in my opinion.

spider web is the only place to go there in your back yard.
