Default ..... where's the Weirs' water analysis buoy?

Close to the Faro restaurant and just off shore, maybe you noticed the water analysis/water temp buoy located just beyond the swim line at the Weirs beach swim area is not here this summer. Who gets the blame? Is it linked to the shortage of local summer people looking for work?

It was/is a U.S. Geologic Survey water buoy, and the USGS is a 1.12-billion dollar funded scientific agency within the Federal Dept of the Interior ...... so, where's that orange buoy ..... and what happened to it? ..... where's the Weirs' water buoy that used to give us a detailed water temperature picture ..... with many ups and downs ..... shown on a graph.

Believe it was here, just beyond the Weirs beach area, outer swim line for the summer of 2016 and 2017.

By googling 'USGS water buoy, Lake Champlain' you can see what Lake Winnipesaukee used to have, but no longer has.

Just re-read your reply from one year ago. Could be the NH-DES would just prefer not to have the USGS buoy here since the DES has been measuring the lake water temp about 2-miles away, at the Lakeport Dam for years and years. Maybe the NH-DES just wants Winnipesaukee to be their home turf with no federal orange water buoys defining their lake water ...... or something?

Oh well ..... ?

That is not happening. If you do any construction or make changes to docks in the Weirs Channel you need DES approval.. When that step is done you have to wait for Army Corps. of Engineers approval. The Feds are already here!
