Default NE Boat Show

New England Boat Show runs from 2/13 to 2/21 and the convention center in Boston. I love this event because it gets me looking forward to unwrapping "The Breeze" in April. With the weather being warmer than normal this year I might be waxing and restocking her earlier than ever before! Going to the show is always fun because we get to see what's new in the boating industry and to catch up with our dealer "family" after almost 4 months of being away from the boat. I highly recommend the trip into Boston for the show; it's very well organized and well staffed. The early info I got says that with the improving economy and lower fuel prices, the show is bigger this year than in many previous years. I'm so excited!!

I look forward to it every year. I'll be there to at least browse around and maybe get a few deals.

Default Discounted tickets?

I was thinking we'd take a ride in this year. Does anyone know how I can find discounted tickets?

The boat show is great way to spend the day. All of the boat dealers that are going to the show have tickets. Stop in an ask.

Default Ticket discount

If you're buying online, there is usually a promo code. I typed in BOATUS and got a discount once When you register, you automatically get an offer for free boating magazines. In the past, there was a form available at the gate to refuse the subscription and get a refund. Like most refunds, it was not quick. The main sponsor is Progressive. If you're a policyholder, there may be something there. Tell 'em you're a friend of Flo. As above, dealers and other vendors who are displaying at the show usually have tickets.

I'll be going to the show on Thursday the 18th with my girlfriend. Enjoyed last year. Love seeing all the different boats & products. Tickets for free. Perks of working for a vendor / boat yard. :-)

Default Strong crowd there on Monday...

...Took in the show yesterday afternoon. Parking lot of the convention center was pretty full. Many more people than last year...even the exhibitors were saying that. The marina that I deal with on the lake said that he had already sold 3 boats!

Last years weather didn't really permit a great turnout if I remember correctly. I think we got buried with snow that week. I sadly did not attend last years for that reason. I am planning on heading to it later this week. Hoping to see some of the local names there.

Default Last Year

I remember the boat dealers had a tough time delivering the boats as the Boston streets were clogged with snow. One boat and trailer got stuck and traffic was backed for hours!

Went to the show yesterday. Lots of nice boats to see but prices are still high and fewer boats under 20' shown. Talked with a few dealers and was told the week had been a little slow. One said thay have been selling at least one boat a day so they were happy with the show. Well worth going though.

I think I posted this somewhere before, but we were told the show discounts aren't what they used to be because manufacturers now want a certain percentage of orders each quarter as opposed to just the slow winter one.

We ordered a boat back in November and it appears we got a better deal than what is being offered at the shows.

Depending on type and cost of boat but if you take your average let's say $30,000.00 boat, profit from A boat a day wouldnt even cover rental space cost....

its a big gamble for most marinas but if they play their cards right it can be very profitable...

My wife and I had a great time at the boat show. All types of boats seemed to be represented. We want to upgrade our boat. We really, really liked the Formula 35 CBR (cabin bow rider). What a boat! I don't see us spending $290K though! The Hinckley was also cool to see in person. We also liked the pontoon boats, after a lifetime of owning traditional lake boats. I never thought I'd want a pontoon boat, but they seem to be so practical.

The boat show is always a great take, and well worth the drive. We made it really worthwhile by going to Del Frisco's afterward!

We went last Saturday. It was very busy. Most of the local dealers I spoke with said it was a good show, solid turnout. I noted a lot of sold tags on boats, including on the Formula 45PC which was about $950k! It was probably the most expensive boat there, even more than the Hinckley I am told.

In general the show looked larger (more floor space in the venue) than the last few years.

I was there looking for toons. I did not see Manitou there, but basically everyone else was. One of my favorites was the Crest with the windshield. Being a former islander it would have been a great boat. It had a day enclosure that attached to the top of the windshield instead of going down to the floor like a normal pontoon, so it would act much more like a traditional boat. This would have been ideal in my situation as an all purpose boat. It would not be my choice as a day boater though, didn't care for the look. Not sexy enough

I really liked the Aqua Patio AP240CB (with the rear center table). Nice sandbar boat. I was really surprised to hear that with the triple tube setup that boat will take a 350hp!
