Default NH Communications Service Tax Increase

My AT&T prepaid bill went up $4.90 this month. When I called, I was told the extra charge is an increase in the NH Communications Service Tax. That's a crazy big increase--anyone have info on this?

I don't use AT&T, but my Comcast bill took a huge jump this month ($16) that I haven't resolved. Maybe that tax is it? I'll look. Thanks for the heads up.

Just found this: "https://www.billtrack50.com/BillDetail/1025177," which basically says this: "...changes in the law made in 2019 that subject prepaid phones and VoIP services to the state's 7% communications services tax, effective Jan. 1, 2020."

Doesn't look like it got out of committee. Am I reading this wrong?

Committee Report: Inexpedient to Legislate (Vote 18-0; Consent Calendar) (on 11/14/2019)

Also just found out my "Broadcast TV Fee" went up $4.95 on Xfinity. This is getting ridiculous!

Spectrum charges me $13.50 for a "Broadcast TV fee" which is the passthru from Ch9/Hearst et al. Can't opt out or drop those channels.
