Exclamation Good to excellent, to stolen!

Two items stolen recently from my driveway and deck on Cattle Landing Rd in Meredith:

The first item; an Outcast Fish Cast Panther Pontoon was taken from my driveway in September by an unknown person. This is a one person, fishing pontoon float with two oars. Suspect it disappeared with someone from the driveway sealing crew that redid my neighbor's driveway while he was not there because it disappeared on the same day as his driveway got re-sealed.

It was a 10-year old Outcast Fish Cast Pontoon with two oars, lists for $999, which I purchased for $150 on craigslist. Size: 10'-long x 56"-wide, weight-90 lbs, color: two dark blue inflated pontoons w/ gray aluminum frame. Overall condition was good to excellent, to stolen!

The second item; a Surfset Fitness Ripster X was taken from the wood deck in front of my cottage, on or about November 19. This is a surfing simulator, balance practice surfboard: description; 70" length x 22" width x 11" height, basically a surfboard mounted on two large springs, weight 35-lb, color-white w/ black details.

It was maybe 10-years old (?), retails for $675, and I purchased it for $100 on craigslist. Overall condition was good to excellent, to stolen!

It sounds like this is the second time the items were stolen. The prices you paid on Craig's List were a steal, too! Best wishes for their recovery!

Yes, they were some steal-of-a-deal buys for me ……. two high quality items with old prices …. plus I had to drive to Rochester and Bristol to check them out …… so's all things considered …. is time to increase security around here with steel security cables and padlocks for the snow-blower, kayak, and motorboat.

Just came from Lowe's and they have a twin led, outdoor motion detector light that runs on three c-cell batteries made by Good Earth Lighting for $24.95 that looks like an excellent design …… and I bought two of these motion lights. Maybe it will keep the deer away, too.

Noticed Lowe's-Gilford has a brand new, orange Husqvarna Z254F 23hp 54" zero turn lawn mower with a Kawasaki engine ……. reg price $2999. reduced to $1500.06. ….. makes me wish I had a gigundic huge lawn to mow. ….

You're probably advised to keep an eye on craigslist. Many times stolen items such as these are flipped for quick cash.

FLL purchased these items on Craigslist. Maybe FLL received/purchased stolen property. Especially at the prices he paid.

Default A Return?

Check with Walmart or Lowes. Perhaps someone had tried to return them without a receipt.

Just a thought.

No, the seller of the fishing pontoon was a CPA with his professional office in his home, and a small sign shingle out front at the road. The pontoon, while maybe 10-years old, had been kept inside a huge, old, well maintained barn building ...... and $150 was his asking price ..... which I was happy to pay with no haggling.

Maybe the pontoon's age is what prompted him to go with the low price? Its' low price is what got me to make the one hour drive to go take a look-see.

As for the surfboard balance board, he was asking $150 ..... I offered $100 .... and he said ok. He seemed like a responsible and intelligent 30-year old guy. I had never seen one of these, before, and it was a medium short drive to Bristol.

Maybe he thought there is not much market for a surfboard balance practice board in this here NH area. Believe it was made in California.

Found this on ebay.com ..... 'Classic Accessories 9-Ft Inflatable Pontoon Boat' ..... brand new ..... $230.99 ...... looks very similar to stolen pontoon ..... and a very very low price for new ..... seems too low price to be any good for new??? ..... plus free shipping, free returns from Kent, Washington ...... as opposed to driving to craigslist seller location.

No smelly gasoline, no noisy engine, no annual NH boat registration, no separate insurance policy ..... just me, two oars, a $45 fishing license, a good hat and the big lake!

After removing from box and inflating two pontoons, will have to lock it to a tree, or something ...... pay out $230.99 from social security check and live on 79-cent tuna fish & rice for the next month!

Not a deal at all.

Wal-Mart or Amazon sell 'em new for $199.00

Walmart # 578171575

On Amazon for the real cheap bastard there is a used one for $167.00 with free shipping.

Boo-hoo ..... my loss for forgetting to window shop it at walmart.com. The $30-difference in price could be the shipping via the postal service where Walmart will deliver to a local Walmart for pick-up for no-charge or something?

For $19.88 the Tilton and Plymouth Walmarts will do a 'pit crew oil change' with up to 5-quarts Quaker State, oil filter, top off fluids, air up tires ........ so's 1 1/2 oil changes will add up to the thirty dollars, lost.

...... Social Security, every month, always seems like such a big freebie, even though it's really not?
