Default Dot's Lunch

Does anybody remember Dot's Lunch in New Durham? We always stopped for lunch or dinner to or from the lake! Great food, nice people. As kids we always got excited to see it as we knew the lake was close.

Default Dorothy's Restaurant

There was a Dorothy's Restaurant in Glendale where the Lyon's Den is now located. A small grocery store was in the space below the restaurant.

I remember it well...as a kid growing up in the late sixties/early seventies we would ride from Dover to Dot's in the back of my Dad's pickup. Made for some chilly rides home after dinner in the spring!

Of course most now know it as Johnson's.......

Growing up in the area I remember it too. Went by often but rarely stopped in.

Default Dot's & Sandy Point

In the late 50's & early 60's we would stop there for lunch on our trip from NJ to NH. We'd leave home at 6 am, stop in CT for a roadside breakfast at Vernon rest area. Since Sandy Point check in was after 2 pm, we'd have our main meal at 1 pm at Dot's. Six miles down the road was Sandy Pt. Great memories!

I can remember eating there with my Father, Mother and Grandmother, a real family tradition! Sometimes our memories exaggerate how good something was but in the case of Dot's I don't think so. My grandmother (She was a Davis, Davis crossing Rd was named after our ancestors who owned a farm off of Valley Road in New Durham. You can still visit the cemetery behind the house where John Davis and his son's are buried. John was a soldier and sailor who served in the American Revolution.) loved taking us to Dot's!

Skip I have the same memories as I grew up in Dover also around the same time!

In between when it was Dot's Lunch and now Johnson's, it was known as Mamarina's for a short time. Owned by the Moore Family

I think the building Johnson's uses is new. The original building burned down I heard. There is still a stone marker out front that says something about a Dot's.

It was also New Durham Railway Station, and they had a model trail running around the top of the walls. The restaurant kinda fit with the depot area of New Durham.
