Default seasonal alton bay water

If anyone knows please answer this question.
My wife and I have a cottage on the water in Alton Bay. We go there for the summer. I would like to know if anyone on Alton Bay with seasonal town water knows when the water will be turned on this year?
Thank you

Default Updates???

Anybody have an update from last nights meeting? Will Alton be turning on the water north of the bridge this week, or delaying it again?

This message was forwarded to me by the Alton Water Works. FYI, around 3 hrs ago there was a notice that they were working on an emergency water problem on rte 11 from Letter S to the Dockside.

Dave

At yesterday afternoon’s Emergency Management Meeting, the following was decided upon for the seasonal water customer accounts:
· Seasonal customers that are on the permanent/year-round lines are to be turned on this week. (The week of 5/4/20)
· Summer water on East Side Drive is to be turned on next week (The week of 5/11/20)
· Summer Water on Route 11 will be turned on the following week (The week of 5/18/20)
· Levy Park water spigot will remain off.

The Emergency Management Director will be creating a publication today with more detail regarding these tiered water line turn-ons. This notice will be posted on the Town’s website on the home page on the Water Department page as well as Alton Water Works’ Facebook page.

Any questions regarding the summer water schedule should be directed to Ryan Heath, Emergency Management Director at (603) 875-0757

Don't feel bad. I heard that the town of Newburyport is not even turning on water to Plum Island in order to discourage tourism.
Wouldn't make me very happy if I was a home owner and paying taxes there.

The seasonal water in Alton runs along rte 11 from the area of the bridge outside the Mount Washington dock to around Sandy Point, and along rte 28A (East Side Drive) to the area of Dan Kelly Dr.. There are areas of the ABCCC that are also seasonal.

They are seasonal because the delivery lines are buried very shallow. In fact, you can actually see them above ground in some areas. You can go to the Town of Alton website, then Alton Water Works for more info.
