Default Ahern access gated

Access to the beach gated for now. Any idea if it will be opened this summer? If not, where is the new GOTO place for shore diving going to be?

I'm not a diver, but here is two spots to consider:

Newfound Lake, Wellington State Park, Bristol NH, NH Fish and Game boat launch parking lot, boat ramp, and dock,

Lake Winnipesaukee, Cattle Landing-Meredith town dock, way down Meredith Neck with free unrestricted parking for about 40-cars, no trailers allowed, a large concrete dock and easy smooth walking entry for carrying a kayak or sup off a car roof top rack, into water-way between south Bear Island and Meredith Neck.

Believe they locked the gate after last Mays senior skip day that brought many students. Which created a trash and property damage problem. Not local students. Most were from Mass.

Thank you for the response...I appreciate it ...unfortunately the places you mention are a long hike for me. I try to stay under an hour from home in southern NH. Nubble and Winnisquam are my limits. Newfound Lake has some great diving and it sounds like Cattle Landing would be an easy entry. Thanks again.

The vehicle access was shut last year due to vandalism for a while afterwards but was then open for the summer; although one of the beach accesses was chained off all summer. I am hoping the main access gate is only temporarily shut this year until after high school graduation parties in order to prevent a recurrence. To me the beach is one of NH's hidden gems. Thanks for your response.
