I don't think you will find any sled rentals on the lake because of the liability stand point, unless someone new has started. Xtreme Marine use to rent sleds but they are nolonger around.

They spoke about something in the Meredith area possibly this year, but I am not sure. Will respond if I hear anything. WBB

Default In the past you could rent

They use to rent them in Alton Bay at the boat gas docks across from the Dockside Restaurant. They rented PWC in the summer and snowmobiles in the winter. Then at the end of each season you would see them out in the parkingf lot FOR SALE.

Default I wish they did!

I wish someone would rent snowmobiles on the lake.

Since there are none I took my nephew up to Canoe King in Ossipee and rented a machine. We used their guide service since I didn't know my way around the woods up there. We had a great time, it was just us and the guide real personal service.

The problem with renting snowmobiles around here is the lack of consistant snow cover.
The last two years there hasn't been any real riding for any length of time in this area. That would tend to put a real damper on rental sleds.
That coupled with the trail conditions could also mean lot's of damage to the machines. Lot's of rocks and stumps in the trails around here.
Without a good base you don't know what your riding over.
Before I stopped riding in this state I found that anywhere south of Nash Stream in Grovetone was hit or miss as far as the conditions went.

Default Liability

Belmont Res. I looked into this, thinking that there was a need for this service in the area, I even thought about guided rides. The biggest problem was the insurance costs are outrageous. All the companies were concerned with the liabilty of the lake riding....Oh well. Also I am in contact with a rental company up North so I will keep people posted on what I find out.

If the snow conditions around here were as good as they can be way up north you would have a great business opportunity. That would be my biggest concern.
Heck the last time we rode around this area was the year we saw you driving the groomer. But that year was an unusually good year for snow in this area.
Hey good luck if you ever do decide to make a go of it.

Thumbs up More info...

Just got an e-mail from Kerry at Alpine Adventures in Lincoln. She said that they will rent snowmobiles to people in the Lakes area, however they will only deliver them here if it is a multiple sled deal. Otherwise you would need to trailer it yourself.

Weirsbeachboater: Did you happen to find out the cost of a machine for a day? Also, If it's picked up yourself do they supply the trailer under it to bring it home?
