Default Power steering issue

I’m having a power steering issue with twin Mercury 225 Optimax outboards. Does anyone know of a mobile/ dockside mechanic that could diagnose and fix this issue?

Lance Packard did some work for me on my boat at my camp on Welch Island. I believe he is out of Moultonborough but is / was mobile. Do a search on this forum for more particulars...Sorry I don’t have his number...

Were sorry we can not process your request for help with steering problems on boats with twin outboard motor installations. We can only help with installations with 3 or more engines. Please add an additional engine to insure you get every ones attention.

On a more serious note, are you sure that you even have "power" steering. I'm not that familiar with the Optimax line up of outboard motors. Any chance you just have hydraulic steering, which is similar to power steering in appearance in some respects because of the the hydraulic lines but actually totally different. If I had to guess you probably have SeaStar Outboard Steering.

Or do you have something like this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8m9lnKh884 if so I would check to make sure this (helper pump) is working. Could be just a fuse.

Packard Marine Services 253-6955. I've used Lance for many years and highly recommend his work.
