Default RAFFLE ITEMS - Forum Fest

Please use this thread to post what you will be bringing for the raffle. I know some folks will be mailing/shipping their raffle items and I trust that our raffle organizers will post addresses, etc., for those shipments.

By the way - We're in the process of picking a charity to benefit from the sale of raffle tickets. I'll update this post once that decision has been made.

See you at the Forum Fest!

I would like to donate one of these, brand new, in the box. I will deliver this weekend to anywhere on the west side of the lake. Or someone can pick it up in Gilford.

Might some of you that have those wild blueberry bushes on islands that seem to thrive think of donating some for the raffle?

Smile $50 Gift Certificate - E.M. Heath - Center Harbor

Many thanks to Dave Petell of E.M. Heath in Center Harbor for his generous donation of a $50 gift certificate for the raffle!!! He is the first to respond to a flyer I recently sent to approximately 60 Winnipesaukee area businesses asking for raffle donations. I'll keep you updated as more (hopefully) arrive!

If you haven't already made the delivery, Rattlesnake Island may be closer or if you have the item in Hollis that may be a good option too.

Rattlesnake Guy and I are donating a puzzle and something else to be determined.

Can I really part with my soft cover Three Centuries on Winnipesaukee? (I do have an original 1936 hardcover.)

Well they "gave" it to me when I bought the new boat but it really doesn't fit my boating style. I don't have enough daring people on board often enough to use it. I can't imagine how much fuel it would take to keep getting an 18,000 lb boat up on plane, never mind the wakes. Everyone around Gilford is glad I never tried this out.

I kept planning to sell it, and then this came up. Someone can finally have some fun with it and we can help out some people in need.

Default Smooking Loon wines

May I bring several bottles of Smoking Loon wines for the raffle, or would wine be considered off-limits for the raffle? I also have a Winni navigation map (I believe from 1978), that is cut in neat, large pieces (have no idea why, although my Father used to make lovely tables and used Winni navigation maps that he had laminated as the top of tables, and this is one that he was never able to make). Do you think anyone might be interested?

Talking Bottles of Wine

It is my understanding that as long as said bottles aren't opened or won by an under age person they would be an acceptable donation item. Thanks!

As far as the map goes - why not? If no one puts in tickets to win it, then we know it wasn't a good idea.

Default Quilt Lady Checking In . . .

DRH and I offer another "Quilt Lady Quilt" for this year's Forum Fest. This patriotic red, white & blue quilt is hand quilted with gold colored thread. Each white square contains a hand stitched star. The back of the quilt has an interesting secondary design, with the gold thread on a solid white background.

A photograph cannot do justice to the details on either side of the quilt but here is a photo of the front of the quilt.

- it was sooo nice to meet so many of you who contribute to the conversations about the lakes region today. Thank you, too, to those who donated raffle items - I'm going to have a great time eating out after winning gift certificates to several area restaurants, and the postcards (I love area memorabilia) are wonderful! Once again, thank you!!!:

Hi to both Green's Basin Girl and Nhescape. GBG...looked for that road and sure enough there it was!!! Nhescape is one lucky gal when it comes to raffles. I am was also a Lucky1 and now have a gift certificate to Kevin's!

So nice to see friends that have known each other for so long. For the 4th of July, a gal I grew up with and went all the way through school and college with ( were in each other's weddings etc), brought her husband to the lake. Artie had not been here in all the years, but Diane was here several times as she loved the quilt shop in Center Harbor. They have a condo a bit further north that Artie used for skiing and while Diane quilted!

This lake is a great place for having friends visit but also for making new friends. Here we all walk around the center of our area so we see neighbors all day long which is great.

I have mentioned the Winnipesaukee Forum to many here. Great Fest yesterday for sure!

Smile Ames Farm

Looking forward to taking my wife to breakfast there soon with the gift certificate I won yesterday!

Had a great time, as usual and thank all the folks who donated prizes!

And don't worry Meredith Lady, I will keep checking Craig's List every day for the bicycle....

Default you are too funny Skip!

I am actually glad Sunset Bob won it-especially when he immediately rode it! Glad it will get some use! Had a good time chatting with you yesterday-you are one witty guy! I am still laughing to myself when Bob took off on the beach on the bike and I screamed "HEY-that guy stole my bike!" The look on the lifeguards faces was priceless. HAHAHAHA

Ya, we heard you on the video. It sounded funny as heck and it also sounded as if he had really stolen it because he appeared to sneak up to it and then got on it and rode off. You should have seen him when he got home because he was riding everywhere visiting the neighbors. Right Sunset Bob.

Default Good Time...just wish all were there!

Many thanks to Meredith Lady and all others that were involved in this years Forum Fest. And to Don....Thanks for a really great website!

This was my 2nd FF and I am looking forward to my 3rd. I thought the location was great.....right on Winnie!

It was so good to see those I have met before, but it was also great to finally meet those I felt like I already knew, but never had the actual chance to meet. Funny how you feel like you know people and then you get the opportunity to put a face to the name.

I also had the opportunity to chat with another Forum Friend by phone....Winn Dixie. Wish she was with us in person, but she was there by phone and viewed by the internet feed.

There are so many of you that I wished were there. I read your posts, feel like I know you and wish I could have met you. Maybe next year????

The raffles were awesome. Kind of felt like my family (me, my mom....SnappyTapper and sister New Champa) cleaned house. We won quite a few prizes. My sister was the real lucky one......Won the Beautiful Quilt made by Quilt Lady. It is really beautiful....red, white and blue. Stitchings in the shape of stars.

Finally, I am glad to hear of what the Fest raised. $1,400 going to the Meredith Food Pantry! How great is that!

So again, my thanks to all that made this a event such a good one. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This great sign by Water Camper gives credit to many of the raffle prize contributors.
