Default Bittersweet and Other Wolfeboro Restaurants

Was drivin along Route 28 and saw a sign for the Bittersweet Restaurant. Have not seen any reviews of this place on the forum. Anyone care to share their thoughts. Also I noticed the chinese/asian restaurant also on 28 just past Devylder's Market on the opposite side around where 109A splits off. Does anyone have any reviews of that or any other asian restaurants (other than East of Suez, which I find fantastic and unique) in the Wolfeboro area? Once again thank you for any input.

Default Excellent Chinese

"West Lake" which is on 28 north of Wolfeboro has excellent Chinese food. The staff is pleasant and efficient and the menu is large and reasonably priced considering the quality of the food. IMO compares to some of the best I have had, including some in Hong Kong.

Default West Lake

I second the recommendation of West Lake. I have had some Chinese friends for Boston that believe that it is better than anything in Boston. Give it a try.

Default Wolfeboro Restaurants

Our favorite restaurants in Wolfeboro are Garwoods and the Cider Press.
The Bittersweet is nice, but a little more pricey.
We were very dissappointed in East of Suez.

Default Restaurant Reviews

When "civilians" post reviews of restaurants, unfortunately, sometimes these reviews reflect that persons perception of the particular restaurant as it pleases them; however, one must remember, other people may not have the same tastes, and, in fact, some restaurants may very well please someone else. If you are not happy with a restaurant, it would be certainly acceptable to state the specifics with which you were not happy, but I would suggest the final decision of whether or not a restaurant is right for someone can only be decided by going there yourself and making your own review. I guess one reason why there are so many different restaurants is because there are so many different people with personal tastes. So, before you bash a restaurant, include the fact that it didn't appeal to you, personally, but others may draw their own conclusions.

We have eaten at the Bittersweet several times, mostly down in the lounge area, but you can order off the upstairs menu in the lounge as well as the lounge menu. Food is good and service also good. Call for reservations, as they can be very busy, especially on weekends.

Cider Press and Garwood's are two other places we enjoy, and would echo the high comments on them.

Lastly, I agree that if we are to "pan" (no pun intended here) a restaurant or any other business, give a brief explanation as to why (bland food, limited choices, poor service, pricey - give a range for entrees- , etc.) you were dissatisfied.
