Lost dog in Moultonboro
I hope this is the right place to post this. I don't think I've ever posted anything here, only read.
My next door neighbors, on Mountain View, off of 109, lost their dog on Nov 27th. It was during the worst part of the storm we were having. The dog is a yellow lab named Danny. He's really friendly, has a collar, and tags. We have looked all over the area, especially the places Danny knows, like Castle in the Clouds grounds. I'm going too try and get the owner to post contact info here, but for now if anyone sees anything, let the police know. I'm sure they told the PD that Danny was missing. Thanks to everyone. |

Thanks folks.
I called my wife (I'm at work) and she thinks Danny's owners are still at church. As soon as they get home, she's going to try and get them to post here. |

Many years ago one of our yellow labs was a guest of the Moultonborough PD. Please make sure they have been contacted.

Nothing new, I'm sorry to say. Don is fairly certain that somebody got Danny to get into a car with them. Danny was a bit too friendly that way.

Please have your friends create a posting on Granite State Dog Recovery. This organization has done phenominal work getting the word out and helping lost dogs find their way home! I know it's been a few weeks, but it's still worth a shot. Hoping Danny gets found/returned soon!

From what they tell me, they have posted there, as well as many other places. They've notified all local shelters, PD, vets, etc. They had a little hope yesterday. Somebody in Center Harbor saw the posters, and called them. He said that a dog looking just Like Danny was running around town, but it was last week. He didn't see the notices about the lost dog in time. Don went down and called all over town, but had no luck. It gave them a little hope though.

There is another yellow lab that was lost in Balmoral. Been missing since Wednesday. I saw a poster of it tonight at the Suissevale post office room. I drove around Suissevale tonight but did not see any dog in our area running around. So if anyone in Suissevale of Balmoral sees a Yellow lab....it just might be the one that is lost.

Danny still is missing. I passed on the post about Carrol County Police/Fire find, but Danny is a pure breed, so there wasn't much of a chance. They still hold out hope, but I know that someone has offered the a puppy from a litter coming this spring. That's cheered them up a bit, but Danny was very special to them.

All you can hope is some low life picked Danny up and is at least caring for him.

Just to let folks know, the Moultonboro Police found Danny. I'm afraid it isn't good news though. His body was found at the private beach here at Balmoral as the ice melted. he must have run out on what little ice there was back then, and fell in. It was a dark, cold, and stormy day, so nobody was there to see it happen. At least they have closure now, though we wish it had turned out better.
The good news is they are expecting to get a new yellow lab puppy within a month. I'm sure that will help a lot. Thanks to anyone who helped to look for Danny. |

Labs love the water. My black lab escaped yesterday, and in my search for him came across the PD and FD in their recovery. Sad, I know Danny's parents. Fortunately for me, I came across mine a few hours later, splashing in the puddles, following a nice family walking their dogs. Labs love people too

What a shame, that Danny's story has to end this way. At least his family has closure. My condolences...........hope the new puppy will heal their hearts.

Please consider the tagg product. It's a GPS monitoring device for dogs. I have one for each of my two dogs. One is a husky, which are known to take off, and the other is a malamute.
