Default Congratulations to DCR - Hiking Map

Congratulations are in order for our poster DCR who has provided this site with many pictures of the various mountains and hiking venues throughout the Lakes Region.

He produced the first comprehensive trail map of the Belknap Range, and it was made available at many trailheads and at local libraries and other locations.

A new comprehensive map, 11x17 in size, has been made utilizing among other things, GPS, and this map has been dedicated to Dave Roberts (DCR) for his efforts on the intial map.

Congratulations Dave...thanks for all you have done.

An article on this can be found in the Jan. 31, 2013 Laconia Daily Sun. A link to the page can be found here, complete with a picture of the map.

Thumbs up

I've learned more about the local topography and trails from Dave's posts and pictures here than from any other source.

Congrats Dave!

Dave is very generous in providing his maps and use of his photos. He is knowledgeable of trails in the Belknaps and done extensive trailwork around Castle in the Clouds. His older maps were available at both the Alton and Gilford Libraries.

Here's a link to his photopost entries... http://www.winnipesaukee.com/photopo...?searchid=8907

In the article you'll find the name of another well-known forum member who contributed!! (guess who?)

Default thanks McDude

I just glanced at the end of the article and missed those other names, including one other of our Forum members, at a minimum. Others in that list may also be members...

Sorry for missing it, and Thanks to McDude for pointing it out.
