Default Vote Tally

Here's a chart of the guesses for 2018. By the "wisdom of the crowd" method, April 22'nd is the chosen day. We'll see. Note: due to lazy data entry, none of the March votes were included.

Based on what I saw and experienced last weekend on the ice and what I see every day overlooking the ice covered lake, I feel this year I will be having an umbrella drink by April 1st at my island camp!

Count on it!

Dan

I hope so Dan. I love being able to squeeze in a few extra weekends trolling in April. When I made my guess we had that early ice-in and very cold stretch and I was thinking April 22 but thought I was being positive because I was fearing more like first week in May. Given the couple of very warm spells and the current Cyconic Bomb about to drop up to 5" of rain in southern NH...I wouldn't be suprised if early April is a real possibility. Last year I launched out of Sheps on my first day and had to break thin ice for about 1/2 of the trip out to the northern tip of Bear (hoping the Broads would be open). Ended up spending over an hour on a slow ride (breaking thin ice) all the way down to the area by your camp. Finally found open water in between your camp and Ellacoya. By the time I was done...all that skim I was gone. I like pushing the envelope on getting out for that first troll!
