Default Sump Pump Replacement

I have a sump pump in my basement that hands a small bathroom. I can hear the pump trying to run but it sounds seized up. I don't think Penco does this kind of work. Can anyone suggest somebody to call? I live in Gilford.
Thanks

Default Ejector?

It sounds like you might have a sewage ejector pump. These pumps can sometimes get plugged by things that shouldn't be place in the toilet waste like woman's sanitary products. Not a fun job but usually can be cleaned out and then function properly again. It is a hands on job.

Septic pumps are very rugged and normally last for many years, like 25-years, and longer. Lowe's in Gilford carries two septic pump models made by Utilco in China; one costs about $150, and the bigger one is about $250. Many homes use the bigger model because it has more power to pump the septic up the hill to the bigger tank and leach field.

Included in the $250 price is a tether float switch that costs about $25 when purchased separately. Many times,a septic pump problem is caused by the tether float switch, and it is very normal that it needs to be replaced long before the pump needs to be replaced. It is a plug-in cord device that goes between the 110v outlet and the pump, similar to an extension cord, and is pretty easy to replace, once you get into the holding tank to get to it, which is the big challenge here.
