Smile Looking for a Wolfeboro home...

Hello to all lakes readers,

I'm not sure if this is the right spot for this plea, but will give it a try.

My husband and I have been coming up for the past 4 years, different months, looking for a home for retirement. Husband retired recently, so we're taking a more active search. Looking for peace and quiet.

We're trying to find a home <2500 sq. ft, laundry on 1st floor (or 2nd),
3 B, 2 Ba, with 2 acres - 20 acres. Paved road preferred. We don't need lakeside, lake view, etc. We can do some fixing up, but don't want to break our backs re-doing every room.

Approx. 5 miles or less to center of Wolfeboro. Price negotiable, hoping to fall in the 400-500K range.

If anyone has a relative, neighbor or friend who is thinking of moving, would you kindly tell them to contact me- we have a realtor but I know sometimes things happen so quickly that I could miss something if I don't get up here the same week.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give ~

You may want to look at some new homes that are being built on Ambrose way. Its close to downtown, it would be a brand new home, decent size lots.

Default Another Option

If you don't have to be in Wolfeboro, for that kind of money you can live waterfront on Ossipee Lake. You will only be 25 minutes from Wolfeboro and Ossipee is a very nice, big lake.

I looked at that area on the axis map, it's a pretty tight development with over 25 lots- but thanks for your suggestion, much appreciated.

Just checked your suggestion, thanks- 5/6 available all over 599K. Husband wants to roam around the back yard in an atv- waterfront to a so-so swimmer not a great idea for him

Not so sure about Zillow. Not so many months ago, I was in my front yard when a car pulled into my driveway. A nicely dressed gentleman in shirt and tie got out and introduced himself. He was a realtor and had seen a listing for my house in Zillow. He showed me the listing on his tablet. I assured him that the house was not for sale. He did ask me if I was sure, and I again assured him we were not selling.

Fast forward to around early June, and a lady pulled into the driveway. After watching her sit there for at least 5 minutes, I went out to see if I could help her. She said she was looking for number "xxx" on our street because she saw a listing guess where, Zillow!. It was our neighbor's house, across the street. I saw the neighbor at lunch time and asked if his house was for sale. He said no.

In both cases, my house and the neighbors, we looked it up and there was a listing. It looked like it was information pulled from the town database Vision.

Zillow lists pretty much all properties and has info and price or estimated value on most of them that they scrape from public transaction info. (assessment, sale history, days on market, price listed, etc.) If you look close enough it will tell you if the property is for sale or not, but I can believe someone reading past that info.

Open house Sunday Sep 2 10am-12pm for 20 Ronald Road On Sargeants Pond in Wolfeboro. Looks to be in your price range. 66 acre pond right on the water. Added bonus...you’ll be my neighbor as I’m building a house on lot next to you next year! Google it.

Thanks for that- we're hoping for closer to 5 acres, but I'm sure you'll have a great spot next year- let me know how you like it!
