Default Alton Bay water search

Anybody know what happened in Alton Bay earlier Sunday afternoon? Saw a large number of first responder doing what appeared to be a search pattern south of Echo Point.

Apparently the ultra light that you probably have seen put a smoke device on last summer, and when somebody saw the smoke, they thought there was a plane crash so reported it. He said somebody told him last year when he put it on that it would happen when someone saw the smoke.

#PIGZFLY - Just a Heads-Up Peeps - Last season I engineered this smoke system - There have been multiple reports of an ultralight crashing or on fire - When I was in the throes of trying to get this to work, some pilots commented that there will be reports of a crash when I use it - Well, they were correct and those concerns are not valid, although I do appreciate your concern
I am raising this issue so hopefully, the police and fire departments do not have to be called constantly
This has been a Public Service Announcement 🙂

I saw a large trail of smoke on the north/west side of Governor's Island early today. I thought it might be a house fire.

This was not an ultra light blowing smoke. FD and MP were looking for someone in the water. Just looking for details if anyone has info

There HAS TO BE more appropriate places to test such a system! Surely in a plane of any type it does not take long to reach the shores of the Altantic ocean.... A 10? minute trip out there VS over the Lakes Region make more sense to me.

Maybe listen to the other pilots that warned you. SMH
