Question King Birch Motor Lodge - Alton

I have several guests coming in from Europe next summer and would like to put them up in a local motel that still has a lot of the old "lake charm". Last summer, some friends stayed at King Birch in Alton (off of Rt. 11-D). They said they enjoyed their stay, so I was thinking of putting my European guests there for the week.

Does anyone have any info/feedback on King Birch? I know nothing about this place, so I was hoping to hear from some folks that might know more about it, especially if there are any major issues that might put a damper on a stay. I drove by there the other day and it looks like a great, local motel. Any info would be appreciated.

A good friend of ours used to own it. I know it was wonderful there then. He is very meticulous and particular and had to have everything just so. I don't know much about the new owners but I could ask him if no one else answers you with direct experience. He still lives close by.

tis,

Thanks for the reply and info. Don't go out of your way, but if you happen to run into the old owner and could get his feedback on the new owners and the current opinion of the service and quality, I'd appreciate it very much.

Thanks,

LB

We are supposed to see them for dinner next week, and if we do, I will ask.

Thank you!

My European guests are a bit fussy, so your help is much appreciated!
