There's some new, great little stores here in Alton...

1. Puppet Patter in Alton Bay - the owner is a professional ventriloquist and has been featured on national TV. She can special order puppets and has a wide assortment of them. She also sells toys and other trinkets but the puppets are great!

2. Sharon's Closet on Main St., Alton - it's a second-hand store but she also sells some new items (read: Coach purses!) and has some great styles. It's an upscale store with lots of fun accessories.

Default Funky shops?

Weirs beach T-shirt shop - 3 for $10 !! In Meredith, walk up the hill towards the library - bait & tackle shop, thrift store, antique shops, wine & cheese shop, good Chinese restaurant. In Plymouth, nice shops across from the Common, including a terrific bakery on the corner.

Default Stuff your own Collectible Animal

There is a store that opened up on the Winnipesaukee Pier last year called Winnis Woods. They feature products from Animaland. You can pick from over fifty animals , stuff them and dress them. Even create a Birth certificate. There is a large selection of animals from the lakes region that kids can make like moose, bear, otter, raccoon etc.

Default Seasonal phone numbers--ICK

Thanks for the replies. I have tried calling some of the places and the phone numbers are disconnected-any more suggestions?

Prefer: New places, or, old gems that have a new look, new line of product.. something that "people didn't know" about them.

Default Still Early

A lot of the shops aren't open yet for the season and the phones are suspended. I sent you a private mail. Hope you received. If not let me know. I would like to talk further.

Default Wild Women Studio

Definitely check out Wild Women Studio on Church St in Laconia, across from the Spa. She just moved there and did an expansion. And hey, NOT just for women. Really cool things. Gorgeous and different jewelry; you will be unique in what you wear. Some clothing (new to her store). Incense, wall hangings, a bit of everything.

Grand Opening of HITCHING POST PRIMITIVES at Senter's Market in Center Harbor on May 23 and 24 "Primitive Country Accents for the Hearth and Home"

...and in a similar vein check out RED CRANBERRIES in Alton Village (right on monument square) and THE GENERAL WOLFE on Rt. 28 approaching Wolfeboro near Kingswood High School for "funky" and vintage items for your camp.

Surviving on Main Street, Meredith, like ETC and Mame's Restaurant!
Look at Hawkins opposite Post Office, some new incredible panorama photographic images. I remember seeing a fall scene in a field, another one of summer on Meredith Bay, and a view image from last August's Show House, with both moon rise and sun set in the panorama image.

Someone should get them to do a panorama of the view at this year's show house on top of a hill overlooking Lake. I think called Meredith Bay Community.

Welcome to the Forum, and I'm guessing by your screen name you are the owner of Artisans? And perhaps the owner of the mall in which all of the other businesses are located, and maybe even a member of the CofC since you appear to be promoting New London?

Default Longview Country Store

It is just outside of Meredith past the traffic circle as you are heading towards Weirs.

They have antiques, candy and lots of interesting items. Always an interesting place to browse around.

I like browsing in the "Casual Cape" on Whittier Hwy in Moultonborough for home decor.
The shop is interesting and is decorated accordingly for the seasons and major holidays.
