Default Winter ATV Trails

I just purchased two ATVs to add another dimension of fun for the family up at the cottage. Can anyone provide me with any information on ATV trails within about an hour of the Wolfeboro area that are open in the Winter? Any information greatly appreciated.

Unhappy No Where To Ride!

Did not the Dealer tell you there are real not that many places to ride. ATVs and Trail Bikes are BANNED from 98% of the Snowmoblie Trails. The Rail Beds are open for ATV use but the Snowmobile Trails coming off them are not unless posted open to ATVs. There is allways the "LAKE", if it ever frezzes?

Try these sites.

Go here first. There some significant restrictions as to where you can ride.

Default ...super-mega-gargantuan atv park way up north!

Up in Berlin, the state is just starting an atv park that will have something like 500 miles of trails when finished in five years, or so. Hey, maybe the State of New Hampshire secretly knows all about the soon-to-be-here climate change and is quietly planning the North Country's economic switch fom snowmobiles to atv's. Hey, the Old Man of the Mountain was up there for 12000 years until he crashed on May 3, 2003. Maybe that was an omen for some big natural changes ahead.

A true New Hampshire love story:

The Old Man lost his head over Mother Nature...

P.S.- Seems that someone is a bit perky after a certain January boat ride...

ATV trail system in Pittsburg opens

Pittsburg - The summer ATV trail system in Pittsburg has opened for winter riding, the state Division of Parks and Recreation, Bureau of Trails said yesterday.

The Perry Stream land and timber company has opened most of the trails for winter ATV use, which typically are closed from hunting season to June.

With marginal snow cover and solid ground the trails will remain open until the end of the snowmobile season.

When there is sufficient snow-fall to open the other 200 miles of snowmobile trails, ATVs will be limited to the Perry Stream lands and will co-share 10 miles of snowmobile trails.

Many of the existing ATV trail systems in the north country around Berlin, Millsfield and Errol as well as permitted summer designated rail trails are still open for ATV use.

For updated trail condition reports check the Bureau of trails website at www.nhtrails.org.

...............................................

What an unusually warm beginning to winter! Hey, these warm temps cannot last, so let's everyone get out there and enjoy them before the temps drop down into the deep freeze for weeks and weeks!

Default Thank you

Thanks all for the suggestions and particularly the reference to the Pittsburg trails and other web sites. I have been to the Bureau of Trails site and have joined one ATV club which should give me access to trail maps for local trails.
