Default Snowmobilers Rejoice!!

Watching all of the weather forecasts on the local and Boston based stations this morning,we should expect anywhere from 10-18 inches(WMUR) to 20-30 inches(NECN) of snow. Finally it looks like we might get some much needed snow in the White mountains for my favorite pastime, skiing pow pow!! LET IT SNOW !!!! SS

Default Pow!

I would love to ski some POW! But by Saturday morning it will be all gone. Oh well, at least I should get some packed powder for the morning anyway.

Default Let it snow!

Since the kids will most likely not have school tomorrow, or maybe even Friday, we are considering heading up tonight to watch it descend on the lake and take in some boarding or snowmobiling on Friday. Yee Ha!

Talking Badly needed!

I need a snow fix. Bad! Hopefully this will be the storm that will make me happy. Up to 18" of snow is predicted by the National weather service. Unfortunately it is in the southern part of the state!
Thanks god for snowmaking at the ski areas!
I'll be up for the weekend. Try a little sledding as well as skiing.

Cool ...sorry to disappoint all the snow lovers but

What I heard on NH Public Radio today was 4-8" in Southern NH, and 2-4" up north at the ski areas. Right now there is plenty of brown ground and closed trail signs at the Waterville Valley cross country ski area. The WV ice arena is always busy with general skating, figure skating, girl's hockey leagues, boy's hockey leagues, Plymouth State U. hockey, hockey tournaments & broomball. The down hill mountain at WV has 45 of 52 trails open and they have not made any snow since about the third week of January. I wonder if they are all through with snow making for the season? That WV down hill is getting to be like a ghost town on the weekdays of mon, tues, wed & thurs.
So, bring on that big snow, it's about time I got me a 15 year old, snowmobile for $450. and go cruise across the lake to the Castle and the Ossipees.

Default Snow

WMUR is reporting alot more than 2-4 in the White Mtns. I listen to WMUR for NH reports because they are usually the most accurate for NH. Any of the other weather service reports like the weather channel I find to be typically inaccurate. 12''-14'' in the White Mtns depending on where you are. Generally around 12" all over the state, varying amounts though depending on what region you are in.

It's close to 34 in Gilford (1/2 way up the mountain). Temp has been slowly rising all morning. Right now, 9:30am, maybe an inch or two of slushy stuff. Its snowing steadily, but the accumulation totals have been cut back.

We only have about 1" here at 9:45 AM. The temp is about 33 degrees. It's snowing fairly hard right now, but it was a very light snowfall until just a short time ago. What's falling now is heavy and wet.

Looks like its starting to taper off here (4:30p), temps still around 32. Looks to be about 6" of very wet snow.

The brief let up (and brightening skies) from earlier this afternoon was short lived. Started snowing again. Maybe 8" so far, with another 4 - 8 forecasted.

Don't know about Moultonboro, but I was in Meredith a few hours ago and it was pretty much the same there as here.

Unlock those gates and get them groomers out

Big snow just north of the lakes.Cannon Mt has received 25-32 inches of snow as of 7:00 this morning! The valleys in that area received about 18 inches so the sledding should finally be in great shape if your heading north from the lake. SS
