Default Where to enjoy Dancing Rabbit

Dancing Rabbit Vodka is the only legally distilled vodka in Belknap county. Dancing Rabbit is an extremely smooth vodka, made from corn and apples, and distilled 12 times. This thread is started as a place to post where and when it shows up at your favorite bar or eatery.

Fratello’s, in Laconia is getting things started as they have placed a bottle of Dancing Rabbit front and center.

Better looking bottle than the Stoli next to it.

Default What time with tequila

Without going into too much detail about one time I drank tequila, I’m excited to share an experience of enjoying a Dancing Rabbit Vodka Margarita at El Jimador in Belmont.

Default Mount Washington Distillers

Located on Hounsell Ave. Gilford, NH. has been distilling vodka but has yet to distribute it. The founder is a classmate of mine who spent decades in Russia.
He hopes to distill other spirits as well!

Rossi’s in New Hampton is the latest to feature Dancing Rabbit. This place is a “must try” for all who want to participate in the “best pizza” conversation.

A likely favorite and most desirable spot to enjoy a Dancing Rabbit on the Walmart Side of the lake is now in reach. A Lazy boy or Adirondack overlooking the lake because dancing rabbit is now available in the Gilford liquor store. There is currently a New Hampshire state sale; buy 3 get 20% off

l've heard great things about that blackberry stuff on the right. Isn't that made in Meredith? Looks delicious. Bet it would be great with the rabbit vodka.

Tried to look for it in the Nashua Liquor store this past weekend but they didn't have any. Next time I'm up at the lake I'll have to stock up for the summer

Default What a thrill

I was just at the Meredith Liquor store stocking shelves when I heard someone come through the door asking “where is the Dancing Rabbit?” That certainly made my day or maybe even month, perhaps even year😊 thank you to all, you never cease to amaze me! I have always believe when I moved here that I found a piece of heaven! Thank You!!!

Imagine what the price would be if they were selling it at the convenience store next door! :-)

Convenience? I'm looking for a convenience store on Mark Island that sells Dancing Rabbit. You can get an easy 20% mark up this week.

If you happen to see somebody walking around Center Harbor or Moultonborough with a big smile on their face and perhaps a skip in your step, it might just be because they found out that Dancing Rabbit vodka is now available in the center harbor liquor store. Perhaps he just left Gustos

Default Advertising?

I'm not trying to start trouble, but this seems a lot like advertising to me. I don't have anything I want/need to advertise, but it doesn't seem fair that this thread is about a single product.

Am I the only one?

Please delete this if I'm out of line, I don't mean to be.

Ditto. I actually checked to see if this was in Marketplace as a sponsored post.

Default Is it advertising?

Sure is! Pat on the back to the establishments carrying it? Yep. But... we all have the choice, knowing what the content is gonna be, to avoid this thread, right? Some people seem to enjoy it, so it's all good. Nothing is " for everyone.
Who knows, someday I might need this platform to plug my retirement " water taxi " service!!!

No trouble with me wiinnigirl83. Your concern is valid. There is a very fine line between informative and advertising. I have forum friends from all around the lake and this is simply the means to inform them of new locations that a local product can be enjoyed. There is one location in particular that is not included on this list. It’s the location that I benefit from the most when Dancing Rabbit is sold there. I felt listing it would cross that fine line. All the places listed are competitors to my core business which would mean I am advertising my competition.

I am certain there can be opposing views on this topic, and pray to god that your post does not get deleted. I would hate for Elon Musk to buy winnipesaukee.com

No not at all. I meant to point out the opposite. Winnigirl83 was encouraging her post to be deleted if someone disagrees.

Thank you phoenix. Shipping presents a whole slew of challenges. We all gain when folks have to come to the lakes to buy it.

Besides… where on Earth other than Funspot can you play a video game from the 80’s and enjoy Dancing Rabbit.

Let's see. This a "Restaurant" forum where most of the posts are positive (advertising? i.e. asking for a friend)
We know that owners and principals in these businesses post in this Forum
And,
we all have two other choices: block the poster or don't read this thread.

So, I'm happy to support a longtime Forum friend with whom I otherwise have no connection, but who posts worthy information and who contributes to the Lakes Region. I nominate his business (whose name he doesn't post) and Dancing Rabbit as the official vodka of the next Forumfest.

In the interest of not advertising, I was at Stella Blu last night, a martini and tapas bar in Nashua and they do NOT have Dancing Rabbit. I did ask.

Thank you for your kind support.

I am rather well acquainted with the original owner of Stella Blu. We had a friendly rivalry around best tapas bar in the state as per New Hampshire Magazine. Dancing Rabbit is a bit challenging for them to bring in because they would have to go to the State warehouse in Bow or order a case from their local liquor store. In time I hope to make it easier for them.

Dancing Rabbit is now available at the New Hampton Liquor Store

I awoke this morning to a PM from webmaster. He is siding with those who don’t like this thread and has asked me to stop posting. Therefore this will be my last post to this thread.

To all present and future locations featuring or to feature the finest vodka in the world, if you come to this page and do not see your restaurant represented it is my respect for the webmasters request.

For all who clicked on this tread with aenthusiastic curiosity as to which local establishment is next to emerge, I redirect you to the Dancing Rabbit Distillery Facebook page

This is completely incorrect. I didn't do either. I only made a friendly request to "tone down" the thread since it was appearing to look like advertising.

I actually like information about Dancing Rabbit and other new Lakes Region products being posted and have always been happy to see baygo promote his businesses on the forum.

Again, I NEVER asked him to stop posting or said I didn't like the thread. I don't know where that comes from.

Default baygo’s out

Time is most valuable and there just doesn’t seem to be enough of it.

Over the past decade plus I have designated a significant amount of well spent time to winnipesaukee.com. In return I have gained a vast amount of knowledge as well as “in a pinch” solutions.

As life moves on I have along the way found comfort in a number of online communities and social media networks. Participation in each requires commitment to follow-up conversation. Time.

I did not want to fall of the face of the Earth, leaving all who enjoy my posts to wonder where I went. It is with a very heavy heart that I announce this is my last post in this forum.

While this news may come as relief to some, to those who find a moment of curiosity as to what I am up to, I will maintain user name baygo on truth social.

Cheers

I think exposure on this forum has always benefited Tavern 27 and your distillery and I don't think you leaving the forum is a "relief" to anyone. I've been to your restaurant and we had a friendly conversation. It's hard to imagine that me just asking you to "tone down" a thread a little would cause you to give up all the exposure and online relationships but apparently that is what happened.

Seems to me Baygo is over-reacting.

The written rule: "Advertisements of any kind are not allowed."

Clearly Baygo was advertising his vodka; to even try to claim otherwise is disingenuous.

Why Baygo interpreted this as some form of threat is inexplicable.

Oh well.

I'll miss baygo, his posts have been very good. But his timing after a gentle and reasonable nudge seems churlish. Our webmaster deserves better.

Agreed, especially since the posts continued after members pointed out they were getting out of hand. Talk about "taking my (Dancing Rabbit Vodka) and going home!"

Seriously, though, nobody wants to see forum members leave like that. Can we talk about the Truth Social thing, though?!

I think the Webmaster allowed more than he usually does in this case. In fact, I think most of baygo's posts related either to his restaurant or the vodka. As I said I have nothing against him, I don't even know him, but I just think it's not usually allowed. I have had posts deleted for being off topic when I don't think they were. And i have posted off topic, just following along, not thinking about it, that have not been deleted. It's very hard to monitor a forum.

I disagree with the webmaster decision. Small businesses were hurt and many didn’t return due to the last two years of lockdowns. The man is doing the best he can to rebuild his brand and I am excited for him. Allowing him to gloat a bit is the least we can do

Hi All,

I agree... Baygo has contributed to this site and I appreciate the posts. But there are costs associated with this site and someone who *could* benefit from posting on this site might toss a coin or two into the coffer.

Other sites I frequent have sponsorship opportunities (I have no idea the amounts!) but I did notice a tab above that allows for donations to the cause.

Just saying... but come on back Baygo...

Cheers...

I will support Don. He has managed this forum for 20 years gratis. Baygo has a new product but the posts have gone from info to advertising. Readers know the product and if they are interested and don't find it where they are eating they will ask and if enough requests are noted the establishment will respond . I hope it does succeed and baygo comes back but if not i wish him well.

This is really unfair. Please explain what "decision" you are referring to. The only decision I made was to send him a private message asking him to slow down a bit. I think that was justified. I did not tell him to stop posting! I did not remove anything and wasn't going to! I did not threaten anything! What is my sin? The friendly PM? How am I not helping him "rebuild his brand"? Baygo posted almost 700 times, mostly related to his businesses. He was and is welcome to continue doing so. This thread will remain for all to view. What's the problem?

It's disappointing to be accused of not supporting businesses after the lockdown just because of that PM. I've never posted this but in an attempt to help small businesses I suspended all ad billing when the lockdown started and ran ads for all of 2020 and 2021 for no charge. I've received no ad income for more than 2 years. I've paid almost all of the expenses related to running this site out of my pocket. Those expenses are not insignificant, especially now that I'm retired and living on my SS. I've now resumed some paid advertising and hopefully will get enough income to cover the expenses. I've also always welcomed information about new businesses and products.

I do think it's ironic that baygo, because of one PM, is leaving the site where he has has posted unimpeded for years and has certainly helped his businesses for a site (Facebook) that is famous for censorship, shadow banning and removing content that does not fit their ideology.

From what I can see there was no "Decision" from the webmaster. A pm asking him to tone it down a little is certainly justified, others had publicly made the same request earlier in the thread! Baygo decided to act like a spoiled kid who isn't getting his way, and he is now taking his booze and leaving. It's his loss. Baygo certainly contributed a lot with his many posts concerning restaurants over the years, but he also got plenty of free publicity for his business. I support the Webmaster and thank him for this forum.

I've enjoyed baygo's posts as well as his restaurant. I also appreciate the great and unselfish job that the webmaster has done over the years.
Hopefully baygo will reconsider and all will be well in Winniworld

It is Don's site, his rules, period. IMO Don handled the situation very professionally.

I am sure Don deals with a lot of complaints behind the scenes. Baygo could have kept it private, but instead he took it public. Don has every right to defend his position, which seems reasonable.

This had nowhere positive to go.
Next , every Realtor will want a free post for a sale and listing.
Restaurants will be posting the daily special.
Everyone with a business will want to post something and it will get out of hand .
Don let it go longer then he had to and basically got a rude response when he politely asked to tone it down. Disappointed with the poster for carrying it as far as he did.

He violated the written rule which prohibits advertising.

How is in not inappropriate to violate a written rule?

Perhaps admin should have sent baygo the private PM months ago when baygo fisrt started touting / getting free advertisement for his vodka.

Default My opinion

Not that my opinion amounts to a hill of beans, but I’m with Don on this one.
I’ve been following this site for over 20 years.
I’d hate to see it go away.

Full support for Don and the site. It is and has been one of the best tools for navigating and understanding all things about the lakes region.

Baygo is being childish at best. The facade of helping others while only really wanting to help himself surfaced. It really is a shame. Doubtful I will return to his business or support his vodka. There are plenty of other choices with less self servicing interests at heart

You want to side with Don, that’s fine your opinion. Full disclosure I have had some issues with Don and had been sent PMs that I didn’t feel were fair but that’s my experience. I have just decided to post much less often and not engage just use the site for an information source.

However the second comment shows you have no idea who Baygo is nor his integrity and advocacy for local businesses in the lakes region.

I have to think there was a factual basis for Don's PM's.

Early on in my forum days here I posted some churlish stuff and Don put me on the "I won't post your screeds til I review them first" list, i.e. strict moderation.

I can't say I like it as it delays the appearance of my posts and when I respond to someone they seem out of context.

Oh well, my bed, I gotta lie in it.

Don's board, Don's rules.

Don't bother defending yourself, doesn't matter how many good deeds you've done in the past, one misstep (or perceived misstep) and the wolves will be at your door --- there's a name for that you kno....

btw, I have no idea who either of you are, but it seems obvious who the mature adult is

You're missing the point tho, he's the mod, it's his call. He wasn't asking for money, that's a strawman argument. The rules are clearly stated about advertising. Plugging your product in repeated posts and then justifying it by saying "oh, but I'm not mentioning my restaurant's name" does not make it ok.

He was not publicly shamed by the moderator but chose to make it public and in doing so was passive aggressively trying to garner sympathy for himself at the mods expense.

Not cool at all

Dancing Rabbit scares me. Have you seen the junk at Tavern 27? It almost looks like the place on the corner of Parade and Rollercoaster. I guess alcohol should kill the germs but geesh.

However the second comment shows you have no idea who Baygo is nor his integrity and advocacy for local businesses in the lakes region.

You are wrong. I do know who he is and have met him several times when T27 was open ( and enjoyed it). I really do appreciate his past advocacy for other business but it’s not right when you bend / stretch the rules and get called out so he just “picks up his ball and goes home”. There’s other people on the playground and follow the rules of the game

Please are you serious? Bend and stretch rules? I have seen the moderator bend stretch and twist rules here especially for certain members.

There have always been favorites here and probably always will be. So the guy is promoting himself, the area and other local businesses. Big deal.

Have you read the Covid threads? They should have been shut down a long time ago.

Too late, can’t put the toothpaste back in the tube

We all now know how petty and self serving T27 is. Unexpected revelation, obviously some people won’t care and others will. I don’t think this self promotion and subsequent meltdown will be a net positive for the dining venue nor the distillery but it will certainly make for snarky cocktail party fodder

Some people just can’t enjoy their success without imploding

You’re awfully chatty on this topic for someone who’s been a member for eight years but only decided to start posting this week and only on this topic. Sounds like you have an ax to grind

Unlike some other online groups and chats the Forum software allows easy opportunities to block certain posters and to avoid certain topics whether it be Covid or restaurants. I used to be in a business that required public opposition with the competitors. At the end of the day, we went out for drinks, or other social events. There was great respect for the opposing jobs and employers, and we all did our jobs, as adults, with respect for each other. Time for respect, folks. Leave your opinions at the door, please.

Haha
I was waiting for someone to chirp about me being “an outsider”. Yes, I’ve been a registered user for 8 years but have been reading this forum for much longer. I can definitely get why you would think I have an “ax to grind” but really can’t think of any circumstance that would cause me to hold a grudge against a guy who simply owns a little restaurant, and I have no problem with distilled beverages, so ya, I’ve no dog in this fight.

I had no idea who Baygo was, but after seeing his tantrum, I admit, I was curious enough to learn who he is. I still have kno idea who the mod is other than people are calling him Don. You can believe me or not

I don’t usually read the forums all that often, mostly when I’m looking for info on a particular issue. This time I was checking to see if there were any new restaurants that have opened recently, looking for some place new to try.

I posted because first of all it was odd seeing 17 large marketing style photos of vodka as I paged down. Didn’t realize it was produced by someone local and didn’t realize the connection to T27 until reading further, people started to question the appropriateness. Then BAM Baygo gets all offended and starts calling out the mod. It was just so unexpected that I was sucked in. I had to look up who this guy was because it just seemed so weird for a normal person to react this way.

I’ll admit yesterday was a slow day and the more I thought about it the more absurd this drama seemed and I’m thinking, this moderator doesn’t need this ****e, the dude seems like he’s just running a fun little restaurant forum and now he’s being forced to defend himself. He took the private 1 on 1 route and Baygo tosses it out for public consumption. Childish, and a bit evil. It just kinda pushed my buttons and I decided to chime in - sorry if it piqued your spider-sense.

Yup, this is long-winded, as today is shaping up to be a bit slow as well 🥱

Never said you were an outsider I said why is it took you eight years to make your first post and this was an odd topic to pick it on especially over the years with other situation such as Covid, the speed limit and many other controversial topics.

Additionally unless you are actively reading this form and have seen a good portion of Baygo’s posts you have no idea what you’re talking about. He’s been an excellent contributor to this form and a fantastic advocate of local businesses in the area and I’m sorry I will defend him.

If you are on the site more often you would also know there are other businesses here that do promote themselves with no repercussions there’s obviously a double standard here but that’s fine I’ll use the form as I see fit.

Also as I said for the moderator to have favorites I think is unfair which is one of the reasons why I do not post that much anymore what are used to be an active member who posted.

This regular reader thinks Jazzy had it right. No business in recent memory has promoted itself with the frequency and energy of this Dancing Rabbit thread. If you have an example or two, please share before casting aspersions.

As I posted above, baygo was a good contributor, and I will miss him. But being a good contributor does not mean he should not be corrected when he violates norms. Obvious to those who have been reading consistently, he violated norms on promotion and then again with his farewell message.

Jazzy--I hope you'll keep posting and not worry about your lane. Good natured debate is welcome, and you've been fine on the facts

I have no idea who Baygo is, except from his posts I know he owns Tavern27 which hasn't been open since Covid, and apparently also a golf course beside it and has this Vodka. Not knowing him, when I think of him the restaurant posts are what I remember, not other things. I think this forum (Don) has been very generous to him and helped him promote his business. Samiam almost never posts about his restaurants- unless asked. Just sayin" I just don't think that's what this forum is supposed to be about. I can understand him being upset as he probably didn't realize how he was coming across and he is probably a super guy. I have been upset a few times as I said for going of topic when I didn't feel I did, but I didn't take my marbles and go home. Yet.

I also do not know baygo or Don.
Don has been running the Winnepesaukee forum for over 20 years now and we should be very grateful for everything that he does and thank him for giving us this wonderful outlet of information.
baygo has been a welcome and contributing member and I have enjoyed reading his posts. But, baygo took a simple private message request to tone it down a bit and made it into a public debate where people are now choosing sides. So uncool!

The bottom line is that it is Don’s forum and his rules.

So your answer to the question, that has been asked several times, is to not answer it and simply make more accusations with no backup? Seems a little or a lot Passive Aggressive!. If you have something to say, please say it, don't make accusations about other forum members or instances of favoritism when you refuse to explain exactly what your accusations are about.

Oblivious to background conversations the moderator may have with various forum members, I personally don’t have an issue with the administration of this site. The past couple of years have driven a number of ranting threads ranging from that nasty 5-letter word beginning with “C”, and political opinions covering a wide range of topics. Add onto that, topics posted to forums that disregard the FAQ’s https://www.winnipesaukee.com/forums/faq.php must make the moderators role uniquely frustrating. I vote to give the admin a bit more courtesy. Truth social, Twitter and Facebook are always there as an option.

I think they generally are except in the biased opinions of others. I don't mean that in an accusatory way - we all have bias.

Imagine for a minute that you are running this site. Every day there are conflicting opinions and, at times, downright nasty commentary. As the moderator, you have your goal of what the forum will represent. That's your bias. At some point, things go too far down the rabbit hole (in your opinion which is your right) and threaten your whole reason for running the site. You are patient but eventually you need to raise a flag. What is wrong with that?

In this case, it sounds like a rightful and gentle request was made by the moderator that got blown out of proportion and instead of moving on, a debate ensues accusing the moderator of this and Baygo of that.

The moderator had a right to ask for some restraint and Baygo had a right to leave. Neither of them were wrong in taking the actions they did and, at the end of the day, your and my or any other forum reader's bias, perceived or otherwise, don't matter. That's when it's time to move on instead of forever pushing one's agenda.

Here's the main point of my post. I've been a reader since 2015. It seems the constant discourse has significantly increased on many topics over the last few years. How long do you think it will be before our Moderator chooses to throw in the towel?

Nope won’t do it. No need to drag up old dirt it won’t solve anything. Long time members if they are true to themselves and this forum have seen it and it’s my opinion Baygo is being unfairly maligned. You don’t like my opinion on past posts or Baygo that’s your choice.

What has so Drastically changed since 2015, that has changed everyone? I agree, people are much more angry then they used to be, and it's quite obvious.

Hmmm, noticing how you have attacked users who have disagreed with you, kinda seems like you don’t have thick skin

Do I need to have this argument?
Do I need to have this argument right now?
Do I need to win this argument?

More often than not I answer no to question one and move on. Sure makes my work and personal life smoother. Don’t get me wrong, this is not an avoidance method; when I answer yes to all three questions I do everything I can to win!

Do others follow something like this or is every argument necessary and worth having?
