Default Tragedy at W Alton Sandbar ??

Does anyone know the details of an apparent tragedy last Monday 7/16 which supposedly took place at the WAM sandbar ?

My daughter is slipped at WAM & the “buzz” at the Marina this past weekend was about an individual (on his first day of vacation) who apparently dove off his boat at the sandbar and - well the rest is not so good!

I have searched all local media & not come up with any details or even a byline of the event.

Beginning to wonder just how factual the story was.

Default I heard the same

I am also at WAM although not there that day, some friends told me the same story. Possible broken neck. Airlifted from Ames to a hospital. I don't have anything else. Tragic mistake in 3 feet of water.
