Default Finally Out!

After a couple weeks of anticipation and very strange weather we finally got to put the bob house out and do some fishing. After a 4 mile trek across the ice we got to our spot and set up. We ended up catching a half dozen nice sized lakers and two nice cusk. Considering we never started fishing until 9:30 A.M. we were quite happy with the days catch.

We kept one cusk and one laker because he was hook wounded pretty bad. All others were returned to the big lake to catch another day. Below are a couple pics of my friends who came and their catch.

The lakers were between 19" - 23". the largest cusk was 25" long and weighed 4 lbs. The largest laker was a little over 4 lbs, didn't weigh the others as we wanted to get them back in water quickly.

Nice looking fish! Were the cusk caught on overnight cusk lines or did they hit jigs or tip ups?

Great pictures. It really looks like you know what you are doing and your buddies look like they are having a great time. Finally, it is great to see you throwing back most of your catch. Bravo on all counts!
