Sounds pretty good except fuel stabilzers or additives will allow water to pass through.Great idea.

It's definitely a good water filter: there are very few times that some water—and sometimes, a lot of water—isn't filtered out by the trap in the middle. I'd suggest storing these right-side up, so non-filtered debris can't get into the fuel system.
