Default Server Migration

During the next several days I will be migrating the entire winnipesaukee.com site from a hosting service to a new dedicated server.

Because of this the site, Forum and other features may not be available for periods of time as long as 24 hours or more. You may also encounter errors when moving around the site.

As features are moved you may also notice that your browser shows an IP address(numbers) instead of www.winnipesaukee.com. This is only temporary until everything is relocated and the name is transferred to the new server.

Please be patient as I perform this major migration. The new server will improve performance and remove the technical, storage space and bandwidth limitations that I am now dealing with.

Thanks for your understanding and patience.

Don the Webmaster

Wink New server. Wow!!! They're free?

Moral support is great; but the real question is:

Do you need any financial support for the new server, which will benefit the experience of all users of this site?

When another site needed some financial support for a new web cam, several from this site were willing to help. That's good of them. However, I'm not seeing the same voluntary willingness to financially support your improvements to this site - just rave reviews for the great job you do.

Of course finances are always a major concern. Because of the popularity of the site the ad banners do very well and have helped finance new features and the new server.

Many people over the years have asked how to help or contribute and I sincerely appreciate all those offers.

Here are a few ways you can help keep all your favorite features operating and help keep the new ones coming:
  • Patronize our advertisers whenever possible and tell them you saw their ad on winnipesaukee.com
  • Buy a Bizer Chart, t-shirt or other merchandise through the site. (more coming soon)
  • Make a small donation

I am creating a page to explain in detail all the ways that you can help. I'll post it in the next few days and put a link to it here.

Exclamation We're back, sort of.

Wow, it has been a tough week. The move to the new server is complete and now the troubleshooting begins. Most features of the site are having problems of some sort.

I'll be fixing those problems one by one over the next few days. If you run into errors or other problems please be patient.
