Red face Hi, I'm new here.

I live up in Littleton, only a couple of miles from Moore Reservoir, which is a dammed up (~10 miles) portion of the Connecticut River. Moore is a totally undeveloped lake, where it’s not uncommon to see a bald eagle or two. I do most of my paddling up here, but I do get down to the Lakes Region fairly often as well, as it’s only about an hour drive for me. I’m new to kayaking (and boating, for that matter), and I still have a great deal to learn. So I was excited when I discovered this site, with all the information about the Lakes Region! Anyhoo, I just wanted to introduce myself and let you all know that I love this site … especially these forums.

Default Welcome to the forum.

We are a diverse group, and some of us are from afar, now.

I live in Central Florida now, but I grew up in New England, and my son and family are still there, in Meredith. I get up when I can, which isn't often enough, but I check in here on a daily basis. I don't always post, but I always enjoy.
Last time I was there was last Fall. Best two weeks of the whole summer.

Sometimes when I post about things here, I am reminded that most people are only interested in things THERE, but it's a great place nevertheless.

It's about to be fantastically beautiful where you live.
Well, it's beautiful now, but I mean not so cold.

Thanks for the nice welcome, everyone.

But I am a little confused about one thing. Even though this is called the Winnipesaukee forums, isn't it about the entire Lakes Region? I mean, it's ok to ask about Squam and other lakes, isn't it. The thing is that I haven't even been on Winni yet, but I do plan on exploring it some this year in my kayak. In fact I just got my Bizer chart this morning.

Lady Di, my older sister lives in central Florida, on the Gulf side. And, personally I like to hear about the places where other members live. I love the winters here as much as the summer, as I love snow. It's mud season now, which is probably my least favorite, as it's now too warm to ski (not enough snow), but still too cold (and frozen) to kayak.

Good question. Although it is intended to serve "Lake Winnipesaukee and the Lakes Region of New Hampshire" (from the FAQ), the focus of the site and forum is certainly Lake Winnipesaukee. It may be because this is winnipesaukee.com and the Winnipesaukee Forum or because it is the BIG LAKE and dominates the vacation and recreational activities in the region.

If you do have questions, comments or pictures of one of the other 272 lakes and ponds in the Lakes Region they are welcome here.

Default Just whatever your thoughts and feelings are

have to be REALLY connected to the Lakes Region.

I appreciate that. After all, Don is the Webmaster.

If we have ties to anything NH, specifically the "Lakes Region", then our comments are welcome, for the most part.

I keep asking this question.....and I am perplexed at the total lack of response.....

Who in the Lake's Region, assuming anyone is interested in theater, can tell me anything about "The Streetcar Company". This is not rocket science, folks. This is a small community, with many interested in Community Theater.

I will name names if people need for me to do that.

I feel like it's a secret society, because of the lack of response.

Default Welcome aboard

Welcome Evenstar. I have frequented Moore Dam resevoir when they use to have the hydroplane races there. The hospitality up there was awesome and very accomodating. Unfortunately, Chysler no longer sponsored the event and it went belly up.

Lady Di, did you mean to be offensive with that post?

Evenstar, welcome to Winnipesaukee.com! It’s a great place to be.

Red face

GWC, apparently reading comprehension is not your strong suit.

But if you take your time and read my post carefully, perhaps you'll be able to get that I'm just replying to Lady Di (who isn't my sister), and telling her that my own older sister also lives in Central Florida.

No No NO Rattlesnake Gal....

I meant names of people in the theather group when I said that about naming names. Like, did anyone know anyone that was IN the group. It was ages before anyone responded, and I was begininning to wonder why. I never mean to be offensive.
Finally, though, GWC responded.

I hope that clarifys? Good.
