Default Alton Parks & Recreation Activities

Check out the Alton Parks & Recreation Website for summer activities. It shows the weekend activities such as concerts, fireworks, and craft shows, and also midweek activities especially for kids and seniors. Click on the activities and get some more details. Concerts are free, and a great way to spend a few hours on a Saturday night, whether you come by boat, car or walk.

and select the calendar. We'll be for you!

Default Alton Parks & Rec = Lake Links

Happy to announce that Alton Parks & Rec website is linked in this website under the "lake links" in the "attractions" section. Hopefully this will help those in the area plan some activities that will include Alton, and will help Alton residents (full time and secondary residents alike) find activities for their enjoyment. The calendar section lists current concerts, fire works, craft shows, and Old Home activities as well as activities for kids, seniors, etc.

Thanks to Webmaster for having the ability to post these items. Such a great service and so few thanks given out.

Default New Link For Alton Parks & Rec

Alton Parks and Recreation Website has been moved/combined with the Town of Alton Website. Using the old URL will get you transferred to the new site.

Here is the new URL if you have saved the URL as a favorite or bookmark:

http://alton.nh.gov/ParksRec.asp

Please note: The days are getting longer, we still have winter activities ahead of us, but the boat will be in the water before we know it!!!! Happy new year!!!

Default Full Moon snowshoe walk

Alton parks & Rec sponsored a full moon snowshoe walk tonight. We met at the trail head to Trask Swamp rec area, which is off rte 28a to chestnut cove rd and then to Fort Point rd. About a mile walk, with a nice full moon shining down, initially with a very thin cloud layer, but ending clear as a bell. No need for headlamps tonight. The walk is over gently rolling terrain, a slight uphill to start, then slight downhill over much of the loop with a slight uphill to the area above the trail head, then a nice downhill to the cars. Temp was about 10 degrees, but no wind. Met some nice folks, got some exercise, and had nice conversation. Seemed like a good time was had by all. Plans are for another walk in Feb on the full moon, which I think is the 24th. See the forum calendar for particulars. Come join us if you are up in the area.
