Question Cam Upgrade Alert!

I just found a new webcam, Bear Cam2. But why is the flag at half mast?

The new camera is a great picture.

Default Cam Upgrade Alert!

Yet another Lake webcam gets an upgrade. Check out the Bear Island page and the "Bearcam 2" just below the usual cam. NICE PICTURE! Colors are very nice and the resolution is higher.

Okay -- and now a dumb question -- why is the flag on Bear Island at half-mast today?

The flag is most likely at half mast in honor of the late Capt Pettengill.

Default half mast

You're probably correct. And since the Mount passes right by that end of the island, it's very fitting.

FWIW -- This afternoon I saw the bow of the Mount passing into the view of Rattlesnakecam for the first time. I'd never seen that before. IG must have some screen grabs of the Mount passing through...

Thanks!

The new camera is a Stardot Megapixel just like the Weirscam. I love the picture. Now I need to point the old camera someplace else. For now it will be Mount Chocorua, but in the future it may be Phillip the bear with Lovejoy Sands in the background.

The captains of the Mount Washington have been acknowledging us with horn or spotlight for 20 years, now we are returning it.
