YA...Phil says spring is just around the "corner". Unfortuantely we all seem to be residing in a "round" barrel right now.

I think the creature from Punxsutawney was high on something.

Default my ode to groundhog day...

Today is the day we depend on the seer,
to find out if the end of winter is near.

No wizard with wand, and a tall pointy cap,
just a little old groundhog, who’s been taking a nap.

The guy's name's Phil, and he's from Puxatawny,
He's blind in one eye, and looks kind of scrawny.

Why listen to HIM, to find out if it's spring,
I'm sure he's got rabies, or some disease thing.

I'd sure like that job, and it's one I'd do great,
after all, what does he do other than prognosticate?

When the cold weather approaches, I'll eat more and more,
then crawl into my lair, go to sleep, and I'd snore.

I'd sleep and I'd dream, for days, and for days,
then on February the second, I'd come out of my haze,

I'll scratch and I'll stretch and put on my shirt,
and maybe I'll shock folks, and wear a short skirt.

Then outside I go, to wave to the masses,
They're shouting and waving and act like jack asses.

I look for the sun, look down at the ground,
and see if my shadow is moving around.

That's all there is to it, I go back to my bed,
and have maybe a snack, to make sure I'm well fed,

My new name is Phil, I'm starting today,
one final thought, does this job even pay???
